There's an origin to everything and everyone, whether they want to accept it or not. At least that's what my father always said before he died. No one really knows who I am or what my origin is. My family's past is fragmented due to the lacking members. It's only been me and my sister for the longest while now and she can't really say much on who we are because she was only five years old when our dad died. As for our mother, she passed away soon after giving birth to my sister. I don't remember much of my mom other than how happy she'd get when the Lumbra would cross the hill at dusk. I like to think of how life would've been had mother and father never died. Roxie probably would've had an easier life if we didnt have to move into Vadum Caelo's capital district. At that time I was only thirteen and found work in a mod shop. The owner of 'Made To Upgrade' was Gerrow, we considered him our uncle because of how close he was with our dad. The instant we reached town, Roxie and I went to see Gerrow. He told me we could stay in the loft of his shop under the condition we didn't trash the place or break anything.

Adjusting to a life in town was difficult in the beginning, however things steadied out after two years. Gerrow had taught me everything he knew pertaining to moving product in and out of the shop. He said things were good before we moved in, but having us around made things a little easier for him. As for the money, Gerrow would let me keep a third of the credits I made running everything while he was out trading and buying new products. Everything was going really well for us in Frilstag. Roxie adapted rather quickly and made some friends. Her training for the screening was going better than expected. The suprise I suppose comes from the different conditions under which we were each trained. A child is usually trained by their parents, this is so the knowledge they used to survive may be offer as assistance. However, since our parents weren't able to train Roxie for Courak, and a member outside the family bloodline isn't permitted to interfere, I've taught her the few methods I could remembered from father and mother.

When humanity first settled Vadum Caelo, Cuorak was a rite of passage that would prove a person was capable of holding there own against Vadum Caelo's environment. The screening became a necessity after the first four decades passed. Of the initial sixty-five districts created, twenty-six vanished and the remaining thirty-nine district knew that to properly settle the matter they would need to convoke. It was eventually decided upon that Cuorak was necessary for human survival on the planet. Courak consists of twelve through fifteen year olds. The children, once parents decide are ready within the age range, will go to the district's center. After Courak was deemed necessary the center of distrits were modified to be a location of gathering. In the core of every distrit a circle two miles in diameter was cleared, and the ground was laid with brick. From where the brick began a massive pavilion was constructed and would creep in half a mile. The roof of the circular pavilion, slants as if it would meet in the center. However, a one mile diameter open area remains as to allow for the sky to be visible. Under the roof of this ring like pavilion tables are placed as if to be parallel with a line running from the core out. Once a year, separate of the other distrits, a feast is thrown in the Civinems for all the children who are to partake in Courak. The test pushes the limits of both mind and body, and only those who were willing to let their environment alter them, will survive.
