Chapter 7: finale

Nya's POV
After 10 years
'Nya, come on! We must go!' Jay said
'Just a moment, honey!'
Now I am married, I have a sweet 4 years old boy I love so much and I'm pregnant (I am going to have a girl. I can't wait!).
Jay came into the room. He saw me crying.
'What's wrong, babe?' he hugged me.
I didn't say anything, just cry
'You read the letter again, didn't you?' he said
I nodded.
'It's been 10 years today since I lost him, Jay! I miss him so much!' I said
'I know! I miss him too! But he is with your parents, watching and protecting you.' Jay said
Our son showed up
'Mommy, what's wrong?' he asked.
'Nothing, honey. Come on, let's go to the park.' I said wiping away my tears.
     The cemetery was on our way. We stopped by, as we always do. But it was the first time our son came with us.
He saw the name on the grave we stopped at and he read it.
'<<Here lays Kai Smith, brother and friend. Rest in peace, hero!>>. Mommy, who is this?'
'He was my older brother, sweetie!' I said with tears in my eyes
    'Why did he die, mommy?' he asked.
     Sometimes it's so hard to answer his questions.
    'He sacrificed himself for me, honey!' I said with tears in my eyes
'Did you love him?' he asked
    'So much....I miss him.' I said crying, avoiding eyes contact, so he couldn't see that I was crying. But he noticed.
    'Will you see him ever again?' he asked
    'I hope I will, sweetheart. I hope I will.' I looked at the sky, crying
    'Mommy, don't cry. You will see him again. And you have me and daddy.'
     He hugged me. I smiled. He's so lovely.
     'Promise me you will always take care of your sister!' I said
     'Will I die too?' he asked
     'No, sweetie. Of course not. You won't have to sacrifice yourself. Daddy and I will take care of it. But you must love and protect her. Always and forever.
      'I promise. I love you, mommy!'
       'I love you too, Kai!'
