"As all of you already know there are two types of villains - Evil Geniuses," Darren's family cheered.

"And Super Villains." This time Monty's family cheered just as loud.

"For years these two groups have at the very least been wary of each other. But in a time where war was brewing, love has bridged the gap between the two." This time both sides cheered.

"Now, I know it's been hard for you over the years. But I think that I'm right in saying that we see what you've made - world where all villains can live in peace!"

Now there were smiles.

"Anyone with eyes can see how much you love each other and I've never seen either of you happier."

Carmen wiped a tear from her eye as she looked down at her beaming friends, dressed in traditional wedding attire.

"You are our real life Romeo and Juliet - without the dying, of course - and we all love you so much. To Darren and Monty!"

"To Darren and Monty!" The hall echoed.

"I can't wait to see what kids you have." Carmen whispered.

"Mummy?" Four year old Megara asked, terrified, on the barrel end of a gun.

Monty spun and before their attacker could blink had swapped places with Megara and was summoning fire in her hands.

"You dare attack my daughter!" She bellowed.

Their attacker, Megara noticed, held his ground.

"She shouldn't be allowed to exist!" He snarled before spitting in her direction.

Monty began to glow red hot. She turned back to her daughter.
"Meggie sweetie, go pick out an ice cream I'll be right."

As Megara dutifully nodded and shuffled of towards the ice cream cart, Monty turned back to their attacker and grinned a wicked, wicked smile. "Run."

Ten minutes later Monty was back and paying for a double scoop chocolate.

She laughed. "There is no way you're eating all of that Meggie." Pulling Megara into her chest, careful to avoid getting ice cream everywhere.

"Don't worry sweetheart, that bad man can never try to hurt you again."

Megara leaned into her mother and breathed in the lingering charred scent. "Thanks Mummy."

Later Monty was in the newspaper.

Megara heard her telling all their visiters many things like 'self defense' and 'villain rights' and many bad words she knew never to repeat.

When she was older she would get her parents to tell her what really happened that day, and learn that she too could do the things that her Mommy could do.

She'd learn that Mommy and Daddy were different, but not a bad different.

And she'd learn never to stand aside and watch people be mean to those she loved. They would pay the price.
