𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄-𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍 eyes stare at the form of Emilia Benoit as she talked excitedly with Keelin and Freya. It hadn't even been a year since Hayley and Elijah died, it had been a very tough time for the entire family and here they were, entrapped in another problem.

It had been a difficult time for the father-daughter duo but like always, they made it through and healed with each other.

Klaus couldn't deny that there was something special about Emilia Benoit, other than her lineage that it, that drew him in. Maybe it was the way her eyes sparkled when she looked at their new issue that sparked a flame in him, or perhaps it was way his hand itched and twitched at his side with the urge to draw her.

A loud, melodious laugh shook him out of his thoughts and he looked on as she tilted her head back and laughed loudly at something Hope had told her.

"You know Dad threatened to fight a cat because I was paying it to much attention." Hope mused as she sat on the couch opposite of the one Emilia, Keelin and Freya were sharing.

Emilia snorted into her had and tried to smother her laughter. "You know, when I was younger I was used to hear stories about Klaus Mikaelson who tore cities apart just for fun but that image is totally ruined for me because of what you just said." Her voice trembled with laughter as Klaus narrowed his eyes at her.

"Men tremble at the sound of my name, sweetheart." Klaus retorted back at her, staring intently at her, almost like he was studying her.

Emilia snorted into her hand and her eyes were shining with amusement as she turned to look at him. "Oh, I'm trembling all right. It's just not fear but with laughter!" She got out before bursting out laughing. "Keelin, it's too much!" She wheezed out.

Keelin snorted but covered it up with a cough when Klaus turned to look at her. They had drifted away from talk of the issues at hand and eventually started sharing stories about Hope's childhood (good ones, Emilia insisted.) and they were sharing laughs.

"Don't worry Klaus, I won't sell the fact that you threatened to fight a cat to anyone." She took deep breaths, trying to steady her heart and her breath.

"Sell?" Freya rose an eyebrow at her in question.

Keelin jumped in, knowing Emilia's reservations. "Em is a sometimes info broker. She sells information to people based off of her own inherited knowledge." There was that phrase again, Klaus thought, how the hell do you inherit knowledge.

The burning questions Klaus had almost made him want to interrogate her like he would have just years ago, how he would have pressed for answers and demanded them with any means he had but he reminded himself that Hope had changed him for the better. Not only would Hope disapprove but so would Freya and her wife. Plus, he was trying to do right by Elijah and Hayley.

"You used that phrase, inherited knowledge, again. I didn't know you could inherit knowledge." Hope brought up, her eyes fixed on Emilia and her Aunt-in-law.

They shared a look and Keelin nodded. "It's not really known knowledge but an emissary is a druid advisor for werewolf packs. My father was and I do it sometimes but only if they come to me. The Benoit line is full of druids, we inherit the knowledge of our ancestors when we turn eighteen." Emilia explained, looking up at the ceiling with a sigh.

All three Mikaelson's looked perplexed. "So, you inherit everything your father and every druid before him knew when you turned eighteen."

Klaus finally understood why she was called, she knew so much. No doubt her father and their ancestors has seen so much.

"Yeah. gave me a massive headache too. I passed out from information overload. It sucked." Emilia straightened before looking at Klaus. "Emissaries are hunted by vampires almost as much as werewolves are, the knowledge we possess, it's not natural. No one should know so much." She clenched her jaw as she felt something in the pit of her stomach as she looked at him.

Emilia had never been one for love, she'd had boyfriends but it never lasted because they hated how much she knew. She was a freak because of her knowledge, a know-it-all.

"Some druids can shape shift." Keelin pipped up from in between Freya and Emilia. "It's totally cool, tell them Em."  She urged, she knew Emilia didn't want them to look at her as if she was defenseless.

"Yeah, the form depends on the druid. My dad's was a crow." Emilia smiled slightly at Keelin.

Klaus leaned forwards, interested. "And what's yours, sweetheart?" His lips quirked up when she looked towards him.

"Coyote." She replied with a smirk. "My eyes glow a vibrant blue when I shift." She informed him before leaned forwards. "Stick around and maybe you'll see it, sweetheart." She mocked his accent before getting up and disappearing up the stairs.

                                                                            {•------» ✶❂✭ «------•}

Emilia found herself in a room full of paintings, she knew it was an invasion of privacy but she was mesmerized by the paintings, they were so beautiful.

She didn't know how long she had been staring at the painting in front of her of a full moon over a body of water (was it an ocean or a river or the sea? She wasn't sure.) with buildings around it but she didn't mind, it was beautiful.

She startled when  a throat cleared behind her and she whirled around to see Klaus and she half smiled. "Sorry, I found this room by accident. I was gonna leave but I was mesmerized by the paintings." She kept looking at him. "Are they... yours?" She asked hesitantly when he walked closed to her.

Truthfully, Klaus was going to scold her, to tell her to stay out, that it was his private room but he froze when she admitted to being mesmerized by them. "Yes, they are." He watched her for a moment more before looking at his paintings. "Which one do you favor?" For the first time towards her, his voice was soft.

"That one." She pointed towards the one she had been admiring, the one he had finished after Elijah's peace party. "There's something about it that makes me not want to look away. It's beautiful, they all are." She glanced up at him just as he looked down at her.

The look in her eyes made him freeze, her eyes were soft, vulnerable like she was showing him everything about her, show him her very soul. There was something... beautiful about the look in her eyes. He had been in a bit of a painting hiatus because of lack of  inspiration but now he found himself wishing he could find an empty canvas to paint on just so he could capture the look in her eyes.

"I think..." Emilia's soft voice made him pay attention. "You're extremely talented and there's something about your paintings that draw people in." She said before smiling at him and turning to walk out of the room.

When she left the room he pulled his opened notebook from behind his back and looked down at it to see a drawing of Emilia with the widest smile on her face and a happy look in her eyes.

A muse, huh...
