Damian wakes up and begins to get ready for school. With his messy hair, glasses and Beanie you couldn't see his face very well. But that's what Damian was going for, he didn't like attention especially the centre of attention, so he kept to himself mostly, trying to blend in as much as possible.
As Damian was getting his stuff together his older brother, Henry, barges into his room all excited like.
"Damian! Are you ready for your first day of highschool!?" Henry asked excitedly. Damian looked back to his brother questioning what the big deal is.
"It's not a big deal, it's just another year of school just in a different building" Damian explained. Henry made this offended look.
"Not true! It's the start of your new life! This is the time in your life where everything changes for better or for worse! The time in your life when you become rebellious and go out with your new friends, and party, stay out late, underage drinking, drugs and making poor regrettable life choices!" Henry exclaimed. Damian sighed.
"Only you would be excited for that. I'm not like you, I hate crowds, alcohol, and drugs. Highschool is a time to study and make sure to keep my attendance consistent. Get good grades and pass my exams." Damian said grabbing his bag. Henry made this disgusted face.
"God you're such a nerd! You need to live a little Damian. There's more to life then good grades and graduating." Henry said wrapping his arm around Damian's shoulder.
"Not really, all life is, is work, errands, and keeping yourself healthy and alive til you die" Damian said shoving Henry off him. Henry laughed nervously.
"Jeez, so morbid. No Damian, life is living life to the fullest! Getting a girlfriend and marriage! Then one day you'll have kids and I'll be that cool uncle who takes them out to the bar on their 18th birthday! Yeah I can see it now!" Henry said being way to enthusiastic about his brothers future.
"Doubtful, i don't like people in general. And if I had kids you wouldn't be aloud near them cause you're a bad influence." Damian explained. Henry made this hurt face.
"Well that's not all true, you have Liv and Lora, remember?" Henry said looking smug. Damian rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, friends I only hang out with at school. After we graduate I'm sure they'll forget about me." Damian said walking out of his room and into the kitchen. Henry followed.
"Nah bro, you're unforgettable. You could even ask them and I'm sure they'd agree. Besides don't you like either of them?" Henry asked. Damian grabbed some juice from the fridge.
"I like them both but... if they actually hung out with me outside of school they'd realize how boring I am" Damian explained. Henry laughed.
"You like both of them?! Wow you have no standards. Which one would you ask out if you could?" Henry asked grabbing some bread. Damian stayed quiet realizing what his brother meant by like.
"I didn't mean romantically Henry" Damian simply put as he turned to see Henry putting bread in the toaster.
Oh god... Damian thought before the toaster bursted into flames.Later as Henry and Damian were walking to school.
"I can't believe you broke the toaster, that's the 3rd one this month." Damian said.
"It's not my fault! We just need to stop buying toasters from the appliance store, we just need to order them." Henry said. Damian sighed.
"No, you just gotta stop trying to cook" Damian said implying that Henry can't cook for his life. Which he can't.
"Hey! You don't need to know how to cook to make toast! All you do is put bread into a toaster and push the thing down and wait! No one can mess that up!" Henry explained.
"Well you're living proof that that isn't true. That took forever to clean up. Next time let me do it" Damian said.
"Y-you'll cook for me?!" Henry asked excitedly. Damian was about to respond when suddenly someone ran into him knocking both Damian and the stranger down.
"Damian! Are you okay?!" Henry freaked helping his brother onto his feet. The stranger got up and turned angrily to Damian.
"Watch where you're going- Nerd!" He yelled. He seemed to briefly hesitate before calling Damian a Nerd.
"Hey! How bout you watch where you're going Jackass!" Henry yelled jumping in front of the stranger.
"Oh excuse me, what language are you speaking cause it sounds like bullshit" the stranger said. Henry growled angrily.
"I'm gonna beat you into pulp!" Henry said lunging at the stranger before Damian stepped in the way.
"Henry no! I'm fine, it's fine." Damian said. The stranger seemed surprised at Damian's rebuttal.
"No it's not fine! He needs to apologize for running into you! And to be taught a lesson!" Henry yelled. Damian sighed.
"Look I'm fine, it was an accident. You are not fighting on the first day. So lay off." Damian said firmly. Henry glared at the stranger who still had this look of surprise, then Henry backed down with a huff. Damian then turned to the stranger.
"I apologize for my brothers behaviour, I hope you weren't hurt." Damian said.
"Why are you apologizing?!" Henry said. Damian grabbed Henry's sleeve pulling him away.
"I apologize again for my brothers behaviour, we'll be going now." Damian said dragging Henry away from the stranger. Once they left the stranger just stood there, dumbfounded by what just happened.
Did the nerd really just... stand up for me? What the hell? The stranger thought.
