Chapter 1

Maya's P.O.V
Summer had just started a few days ago but I feel like this is gonna be the best summer yet.
" babe, hurry up"
I was rushing up the hill to catch up to my boyfriend, Adam.
Adam and I have been dating for two amazing years.
"I'm here!" I yelled while jumping in the air causing me to fall on the ground.
"Ow."
"Is my baby okay?" He looked at me with his perfect brown eyes.
I nodded my head to assure him that I wasn't dead.
He picked me up bridal style and kissed my forehead causing me to blush.
We watched the sunset, until I got a call from my best friend saying the she needed me "ASAP."
"Babe I gotta go, Ashley needs me "really" bad."
I stood up and kissed his lips softly.
" okay, text me when you get home so I know your safe, okay?"
"Okay. I love you."
"I love you, too.
I headed down the hill, and into my car, only driving about 5 minutes down the road.
When I arrived, I texted her that I was here because I feel like knocking is an awkward thing to do nowadays.
She opened the door and led me up to her room.
"So why did you need me "ASAP?"
"Oh I didn't, that's the only way I can get you over here."
I laugh.
"Really? But now that I'm here, what do you wanna do?"
" maybe you could stay the night?"
"Sure just let me call my mom."
I dialed my moms number quickly.
It rang about two times before she answered.

-Phone call-

Maya: " hey mom, I just wanted to tell you that I'm gonna be staying the night at Maya's house,okay?"

Birthgiver: "alright, but your father expects you to be at dinner tonight, so after dinner is over you can go back to her house."

Maya: "that's fine, I'll see you in like 5 minutes."

-phone call ended-

"My mom says I gotta go eat dinner at my house, but I can come back later to stay the night. Bye."

I arrived at my house about 10 minutes later. I unlocked the door while yelling that I had arrived.
I stepped into the kitchen noticing that my parents and my sister, Madison, were waiting for me in the dining room.
" why are you all staring at me like that?"
Madison wiped a tear.
" maya, dad says we're moving to California." She stated while wiping a tear.
"What, This can't be happening!"
I ran up to my room slamming the door shut, crying on my bedroom floor.
