So i've been messaged a few times about the time period and historical aspect of this story. Ive been yelled at for not keeping it true to the textbooks, Ive been insulted for my lack of knowledge on WW2 and other wars that happened during this time.
Now before I get into that I want to point out my disclaimer, I have it posted in the description along with one on my instagram(tatemwritesstuff).
I stated that this story is NOT historically accurate. I love history but im not here to give you a history lesson.
This story obviously takes place in the military but that is not the main point in the story! The main point or idea was Riggs' and Dylan's relationship and the struggles they face in the army.
No only emotionally, but physically. There is always a chance for someone you love or someone you're in love with to get hurt. Sometimes its not that bad but other times?
It can be fatal. It can be traumatic. It can be heart breaking.
Emotionally? Well... Everything affects everyone differently. Riggs may not of been affected mentally after being shot, multiple times, But Dylan?
She was affected by the abuse from her parents, from the little girl in their first deployment, and now in the next few chapters you will see the affects on her from being thrown into the pit of sex trafficking.
All of this may seem unrealistic, and I may over exaggerate some things in the story because this is fictional, but these things do happen to our every day protectors.
Cops,Soldiers, Security Guards, doctors, nurses, firefighters, the list goes on. Everyday they come face to face with death, face to face with danger and its never talked about!
So though my story may be fictional, Im hoping to give a different perspective on the Army and what goes on.
Now as to the rude comments about things I do and do not know, I dont care! Im writing a story that I enjoy and others do as well. If its not historically accurate enough for you or my lack of gun knowledge offends you, well I suggest reading a different story.
