"I have something special planned for us tonight" I was told as I held my phone next to my mouth "Feel like going out for a bit?"

Great another date

I rolled my eyes at the thought of going out any time soon. I much preferred staying in my space, but a lot of the people I meet like expensive dinners and flashing lights. I wish someone would surprise me with some I liked.

"Well where are we going?" I asked with disinterest hoping she'd catch into my attitude.

"Tonight, its a surprise!" She said excitedly.

"TONIGHT!! Its almost 9 pm!"

"Exactly why this is the perfect time. Put on comfortable clothes. We'll link in 20 minutes downstairs" she then hung up.

I shot myself up from my desk pissed. I didnt want to leave my apartment at all tonight and deal with people, nonetheless Taylor. She tries her best but I hated the last time she took me out and she knew it too. All the loud music and lights had my head hurting horribly by the end of the night. Not to mention she had to escort me to my apartment because of the migraine.

I looked through my closet trying to find anything to wear. "What does she even mean by 'comfortable'"

A dress, shorts, tights. We could be going ANYWHERE and doing ANYTHING

After gritting my teeth on what to wear I decided on some sweats and a hoodie since it was getting cold at night; I also slid on my crocs.

Fifteen minutes passed by and so I decided to head out. I grabbed my keys and mask, turned the lights off and let the door swing shut as I walked out.  After tucking the mask behind my ears I pressed the silver elevator buttons and rode down the 11 story drop.

A few people hopped on ofcourse but we never really talked. Some looked tired, some looked stressed. One smelled like liquor and he said 'hi' to me before walking out.

When I got to the lobby I saw Taylor there. She wore all black in sweats, Hoodie and beanie. Even her crocs were black along with her mask with a blue moon design on it.

Her twisted hair fell out of the beanie and around the frame of her face, while her dark skin had no make up on it. She looked completely different and comfortable.

"Evening, Nicole. Ready to head out?" She looked at me waiting for my response.

"Yea"

"Great. Let's go. If you have headphones you can wear those. We're only heading to the park down the road" Taylor pointed towards the doors and began walking. I put my headphones in and began blasting my usual as I thought of everything about this woman.

She looked nothing like the last time we met. Her curves didn't stick out. Her hair isn't pulled back, no make up, no nails... nothing. Only a slight hint of perfume.

I looked her up and down as we walked until i tripped on the side walk. I flew forward from the stumble, but im lucky to have her catch me and push me back up.

"Watch your steps okay?"

I simply nodded and continued on.

We finally made it to the park and began the usual trail. It circled a pond and was very dark, but it was relatively safe.

The crickets were loud tonight and the only thing I could hear was the shuffling of my shoes on the ground.

"Let's stop here" she told me and we sat on a bench.

"Uh... this is nice? I guess" I said nervously hoping she wasn't a killer.

"Lol just give it a second. We just got out all the city lights" While we waited she  went in her bag and pulled out a candle and lit it, then a baggie with something in it.

"You smoke?" She asked me

My heart jumped from quite a question

"I smelled a hint of it on you at one point. Here I bought you one" she reached in the baggie and handed me a leaf wrapped blunt. She took out another one too.

"Are we not going to share" I asked. I saw her head tilt in the dark as she pondered sharing her blunt instead of smoking two.

"No. Ill smoke one of these on my own to be honest" and with that she got a lighter and sparked hers.

I pulled my own lighter out  and quickly sparked mine which got her attention.

"Wow! you came prepared?" She asked excitedly. "You MUST BE a pothead" she bust out laughing and my cheeks became heated from embarrassment.

"Its not funny" I countered trying not to laugh. She had a very smooth laugh as if it she was tickled from her gut. She swayed trying to calm herself down and a few chuckles would leave her lips in spurts.

"You're right. Im sorry. I just didn't expect it..."

She recollected herself as she took hits from hers and I did the same. "I've never went out with someone who brought their own lighter. I typically have to share"

We stayed quiet for a minute, enjoying the time.

"Have you seen the stars yet?" She began. "They're beautiful over here"

When I looked up I begin to see the slight twinkling until more and more stars revealed themselves. They pulsed and flashed in the night sky as if they wanted to come down.

I felt so empty looking at then, but full at the same time. Nothing could cross my mind and I even felt lighter. I havent felt this relaxed in a while and almost forgot what it was like to enjoy another person.

I wanted to hug and kiss, to feel another woman's warmth mix with mine...

I want...

"They're... astounding" the breath ran from my lungs as white clouds.

"Are you saying that or is it the weed talking?"

"Both" i said "I love moments like this. Truly" I felt us moving closer together in the bench but no longer cared about my space being invaded. It was nice doing something I liked.

I jumped when our shoulders touched and when I looked to her she looked back to me as if I called her.

There was something strange about her gaze. I could only imagine being grabbed and absorbed into what she had inside her.

Taylor's eyes, nothing but black pools, made beckoned me forward.

Then.... a kiss.

It felt soft and gentle, and I finally had the warmth I wanted all along. Until she pulled away.

"Maybe we should head back" Taylor stood up and backed up a little. "I'm sorry"

I couldn't even say it was fine or that I liked it before she put her headphones on for the walk. I just did the same and followed.

This walk seemed longer and quieter, but calm at least. It only bothered me that She wouldn't look at me at all.

Was it something I did?

Am I a horrible kisser?!

But it felt so nice

It felt perfect to me

Why did we leave?!

We walked into the lobby and she waved to leave but I grabbed her by the back of her hoodie. "Why are you suddenly acting weird? Did I do something?"

"Uh no" her head looked a different way...

"Then what happened?" I asked her...

"I liked it too..."she told me quietly," a little too much"
