While running all together, Laura collided with Em and she fell into a ditch covered by leaf. It seemed like a trap already planned to catch us. Everything at this moment seemed against us. Like a conspiracy of the nature to get us caught by some unknown person who was never leaving our back. The world seemed against our plan of having a happy day. The once so lovely cosy woods, the nature, the world, the universe. Everything!
Now we had to stop. We needed to take Em out of the ditch. We can't leave her like this. I can't leave her. Never! I immediately sat cautiously at the edge of the ditch and leaned forward to reach out a hand to her, my shivering back facing the path ahead. I caught hold of Em's palm but before i could make my grip firm it slipped out of my hands. Her sweaty hands were always a mess. She fell to the ground and hit her back against a rock. That was hell seeing her suffer. Seeing my bestie cry out in pain. It was excruciating! The once so silent woods was now witnessing a bitter cry of an innocent girl. I felt like crying out loud for the whole world to hear my fear, my pain. But this wasn't the time to break down. I needed to be strong. Very strong! I wiped the tear that dropped down my burning face. But then... I took notice of what was waiting for us for so long. The one who was standing right in front of me that i totally ignored till the moment before. There stood a large, dark, hairy figure with glowing white eyes giving us a death glare. It was hard reading the expressions he had, but i was very sure I never had any glowing eye friend. Ever! For sure!
He leapt at me with his fiercing eyes and just at the right moment i caught Laura's wrist and jumped into the ditch. It was better suffering a little pain than being killed or loosing one of us.
Just in a moment, the forest was covered in sharp cries of pain. Laura hit her foot and got I hurt in my back, foot and arm. It was painful! But the glowing eye was even more merciless. He came forward and looked down in the pit. It was scary! He was so big that it was practically possible for him to reach his hands to us, with great ease. And like I expected, he reached out his hand to us. Or maybe me, like I felt. But then...something happened.
A sudden beam of yellow light illuminated the forest as it fell on the creature's eye. The danger now was screaming in pain. Loathing on the ground, burning. Begging for life. It was all so disturbing. But fascinating at the same time.
It seemed like we are a part of some kind of thrilling horror movie in which the heroine gets stuck somewhere and her hero comes for her rescue. I wanted to meet our savoiur eagerly. But the pain in my body didn't even let me scream. I could feel my blood gushing out of my legs and arms. I somehow managed to turn my head and look at Laura and Em. I completely panicked when i saw them lying with closed eyes. The panic attack gave me strength to scream for help. As i screamed...i saw a boy rush to the end of the pit who was staring at me with his beautiful blue eyes. Fire erupting from his palms and I knew he was the one! My saviour! Maybe?
He lifted me up from the pit and kept me in his lap, holding me tight. For some reason I wasn't able to see his face clearly now. I figured out that I was very soon going to paas out. But before I loose my concious, I saw the boy bend down at my face but stopped mid-way and cried out in pain.
As i closed my fearful eyes, I heard......
