Then Yashiro did the unthinkable.
She leaned forward and kissed Hanako on the cheek.
...
The ball was tonight and Yashiro was getting pampered for it. She stood in front of a mirror while two ladies made of flowers attached her dress to her small body. She held her body straight and tried not to move a muscle even though that was almost impossible.
Hanako had left to go visit the garden village when that Crazy Queen Kestrel came to collect Yashiro. Is Kestrel really an ugly witch? It can't be. No way. She looks like a damn goddess!
Looking into her reflection in the mirror, the daikon smiled softly and admired her looks. Never has she ever worn a ball gown this big before. She really felt like a true princess. She couldn't deny her feelings for Hanako anymore. He was just so funny and adorable, and she never knew what would happen next with him.
Yashiro loved the feeling of not knowing of what is to come in love. He may not be her type, but she undeniably was falling in love with him.
"Alright, we are going to tighten the waist of your dress and then we'll be finished. You will be escorted out into the ballroom." said one of the flower ladies.
Yashiro nodded and soon felt tightness around her waist. She gasped and felt like she was suffocating. It was soon over though and she was set free.
She was escorted by Queen Kestrel herself when they met in the hallway. "Oh! You look stunning, Princess Yashiro! Pink looks lovely on you."
"Y-you look great too! Total goddess." she stuttered and tried not to look guilty.
The Queen didn't seem to notice, "Thank you! You're a sweet girl."
They walked down the hallway and to the large doors on the left side of the wall, golden detail covering it all. Now Yashiro was starting to hate heels because her fat ankles were beginning to get tired.
Standing in front of the door now, the Queen and the Princess watched how the doors magically and slowly opened when Kestrel clapped her hands.
"Have anybody you really want to dance with?" She winked.
The small girl blushed and nodded.
Yashiro and Kestrel walked out and heard many claps and praises from the guests down below. The daikon trembled nervously but all of her nervousness went away when she spotted Hanako down at the bottom of the staircase, waiting for her. She smiled and walked down the stairs slowly so that she didn't fall, holding her dress in one hand and holding the railing in the other. Kestrel followed and met Prince Tsukasa at the other side.
Hanako was blushing softly and couldn't hide his red face. Yashiro was in front of him now and he felt his heart racing. He held out a gloved hand with a grin.
The girl took it and walked out onto the ballroom floor as music began playing. "You're so pretty." He said as he pulled her close so they could dance. Yashiro placed her arms round his shoulders and he placed his hands on her waist.
"I am?" She blushed and swayed to the music. He nodded. They were silent for a while and they just danced and stared at each other. The silence between them wasn't very awkward, only peaceful.
The music got more intense and quick and so did they, Hanako holding the pretty diakon in his arms, they now did the waltz. She giggled because this was so fun.
By the time the song and dance was over, the both of them were laughing and enjoying each other.
Yashiro stared into his large amber eyes, and he back into her magenta ones. Their faces got closer and closer slowly, until they shared each other's air. She closed her eyes as she felt Hanako's lips touch hers.
...
Yashiro gasped awake and quickly sat up. She found herself in the nurses office laying on one of the beds. What was she doing here? How did she get here?
A familiar voice filled her ears. "Finally, you're awake."
"Tsuchigomori-Sensei!!" She exclaimed. "How did I get here??"
The Sensei explained, "You tripped and fell this morning. I'm pretty sure you hit your head, that's probably why you were unconscious all day."
"A-all day? You mean I was only sleeping all day?" She asked. Could everything that just happened be only a dream..? Did I only dream that Hanako had kissed me twice??
"Yes."
"Yashiro!! You're finally awake!" Gasped a very familiar ghost boy, who tackled the daikon.
"H-Hanako-kun?"
He grabbed her face and made her look at him directly in his eyes. "I saw you trip this morning and hurt your head. Are you sure you're alright?"
"O-oh yes, I am.." she mumbled. It really was a dream after all. Yashiro Nene-Chan realized that dreams really don't come true.
Tears started dribbling down her cheeks from her eyes, dripping off of her chin. "Yashiro, what's wrong??" Hanako asked worriedly.
She didn't answer and pulled the boy into an embrace. He flinched but soon hugged her back without knowing the reason why she was upset.
"You'll be okay.." he cooed

[A/N] hi !! I'm back with this chapter. I'm sorry for this book's hiatus. I just haven't been enjoying creating chapters for this book anymore. As you can tell this chapter is ridiculously short and I'm sorry.
This story is almost done, just one more chapter. This story was never meant to be too long.
If you liked this story, then you'll probably enjoy my other ongoing story called I Dreamt of Heaven. It's about a shy Nene and the boy Amane as they fall in love as Amane falls apart.
Enjoy !!
Teddy ✨
