There was a girl walking in the woods, admiring the trees and hibiscus flowers. Her little bland leafy sandals had nothing to make them, cute. She picked a bright red one flower and kneeled down and pulled a string out of her small pocket. She tied it on.
"Much better!" She said admiring the flower. She loved it. This is perfect. She walked back to the village.
"Hey mom I'm home!" She called into the small house.
"Where are you?!" Called her mother loudly. I shook and a sudden pain came to her head, not liking the sudden outburst.
"I'm at the door mother!" She called calmly ignoring the pain.
"Come into the light let me see you!" Her mother called.
"Okay mother, you just have to see my new shoes!" The girl said dropping her small pocket to the side. She walked toward the living room. It was a small shack, made of wood. It was quite cute compared to the others. She sat in the middle of the room folding her legs for her daily meditation, her mother watching her. She breathed in. After what seemed like hours She looked up, the room was dark, like every time She opened her dark eyes. She walked out of the house looking around. The village was dark and lonely. She walked down the grassy road. Why does that always happen? Suddenly She heard her mom yelling. She felt her shaking.
"You have a darkness in you." She said calmly.
"No I don't! Why do you always say that?" She asked standing up. The room was nice and calm, no longer dark but lit perfectly.
"Because it's true!" She shouted. The girl flinched, her dark brown eyes watered. She ran to he own room.
"Why does she always think that?" She cried into her peacock feather pillow. A mouse ran across the room up the foot of the bed then walking up to the night stand and eating the plate of ham she left out for him. She looked up at him. Her tears staining her colorful streaks of paint on her face. She smiled kindly at the small creature nibbling away at the ham.
"Hey little guy." She mumbled happily. He didn't look at her he just kept eating. She smiled again. She held out her hand toward the creature who sniffed her hand and climbed in. She held the small rodent and pet his head with two fingers. He looked at her eyes. Dark black. She was at peace. He squeaked, and ran. She was so confused. She looked at her face in a mirror, her eyes all black with a nice shine. She stumbled back.
"What?" She asked herself. She held the mirror in her hands and stared at those strange eyes. The room began to spin and she suddenly felt dizzy.
"Honey wake up! Wake up!" Shouted her worried mother. She opened those dark eyes.
"What happened?" She asked rubbing her rare violet hair.
"You blacked out." Her mother said.
"Does that explain my eyes?" She joked, opening them for her mother to see.
"No." She sighed.,"When did you get these?"
"When the little mouse looked at me."
"What little mouse?"
"The mouse that lives in my room. I've hidden him from you. I'm sorry mother."
"It's okay dear."
"I'm really sorry, I knew you would kill little hunter."
"Oh that's his name."
"Yes he's the most adorable little mouse." She cooed.
"And what color was this mouse?"
"Black" she answered casually.
"You have a darkness in you!" Her mother shouted. This time neighbors came noting her black eyes. They started a riot on the poor little girl. She was banished the next day for dark magic and darkness in the soul.
"What did I even do?" She asked the chief. All he did was point toward the woods.
"Fine!!" She yelled over whelmed," but can I at least take my stuff. The chief shook his head and grabbed the black paint.
"You must never return!" He said while applying the black paint in marks all over her arms and legs. " now go" she looked around with disbelief. She was surrounded by a mob holding torches with fire and the only way out was through the woods. Of coarse the little girl would never want to enter the forbidden woods. Everyone knew what lurked in there was evil. Kidnapping little children if they dare enter. She sat on the ground looking for a way out, but there was none. She sulked out toward the forest, then sprinted through, her hair pulled back by the speed and her ears finally revealed. Elf ears. Everyone screamed and ran to there homes. She arrived deep into the forest after sprinted and realized the hair. She quickly pushed it over her ear and fell to the ground, crying.
"Why did this happen? It's only a little mouse, what's wrong with that?" She said out loud. Then something moved on her head. The mouse. Little hunter.
"You're the reason I'm out here!" She screamed shaking him off her head." But... You are an outcast. You will never survive out here on your on. Hunter your my familiar. Everyone thinks I'm a witch so I will be one. You will help me!" I looked at the little mouse. "But first we will learn spells and we will learn the life out here!" The poor girl shouted with the mouse on her finger, who gave her a smile. His little eyes glowed white. They ran toward the village. It had been a few hours since she was banished. How about now? She had asked the mouse who gave his little head a nod after several earlier attempts. She climbed on a tree just a little over the wall.
"I've always known the town magician had dark magic!" She whispered to the mouse, who nodded once more. She stormed through the village to the magicians shack. Inside she slept with a crow next to her also enjoying a slumber. She smiled. Then walked toward the book case. The old women shot up from her tiger skin bed and looked at the girl.
"How dare you come back!" She yelled. Then started the wind. It swirled around the room and then the old women started chanting unexplainable words. All the little girl could understand was "tho shall never been seen again!" The girl was for sure scared and unable to speak. She was transparent all of the sudden and didn't feel the world around her was she a ghost. No she was living but was forced to live a life unseen. She walked toward the old one and waved her hand i front of her small little eyes. No reaction.
"Hello?!" She shouted. Nothing. She began to weep still in her shock. She walked over to the bookshelf. Her hand went through those books and she couldn't touch them. She sat in the shack and waited for morning. She looked in the mirror in the night, after not being able to fall asleep in the cold. The in the dark she was transparent but able to be seen. Her hair was a darker violet and one stripe down the center was a deep black. She began to turn completely see trough as the sun came up. She rubbed her eyes and sat back down. The old woman was waking up.
"Where was Hunter?" She asked herself. Of coarse no one answered. No scurrying, no squeaking no nothing. The woman waled right through the girl and picked out a few books and went out dropping one on the floor. I waled over to it and read a page by blowing onto the front. It eventually did flip and she read a few pages. How to change one into a frog, how to make a love potion, how to make one invisible! She had finally found it! She read through.
"You must be a witch." Was the first line. She snapped her fingers. Little did she know about herself. She skipped the first line thinking it was a joke, though it wasn't. She chanted the undo spell and was excited for the works. She was visible once again. She felt the ground underneath her feet, she felt her ears itch under her messy hair. She didn't need to hide them any more. But wait she was visible! How could she escape? She felt the mouse in her hair once more. She tugged at his tail and he looked at the girl. Her bra of leaves was painted white, her skirt of hide was white as well. She loved her new look.
"Hunter! Help me find a way out!" She pleaded. He pointed to the fire place. She blinked then realized. Then the door handle jingled. The door pounded loudly after the girl had locked it. The sudden noise startled her and she was transparent once again. She stayed that way as she was scared of the woman. She noticed the lost book. She searched the house for it but she could find it. The girl, being taller than the old woman by an inch or two, was on the boards holding up the straw roof. She was sitting in a strange way, like a little frog in a dried pond. She stared at the lady below. She looked at the mouse who had a large smile on his little mousy face. A cute one not a creepy one. He was like her guardian at dark times. It was time. She crawled throughout the house silently ,as she gained confidence she grew more visible. The more she was able to be caught. She crawled toward the kitchen barely transparent now. She was scared now. Losing the confidence. She reached the small kitchen and looked through it, for any lighter she could use, for any knife, for an escape. She finally found what she was looking for and more. A vial for potions, a bag, the lighter and a bow and arrow. She stuffed everything in the bag and more as she climbed back up and through the book cases. She was now hovering over the lady.
"You are not alone, I am here with you." She sang. The woman shot up from the couch and screamed.
"Who's there?"
"It's only me." She said not leaving the top spot. The woman then looked up and saw the girl with those black eyes and the mouse on her shoulder. Her bow pulled back aiming at her face and in a flash her vision was blurred and red. She fell to the floor.
"What have I done!?" The teen screamed."there no time I must get to my home. She darted from tree to tree toward her small home. She reached it very soon and then entered the house. Her mother was baking in the kitchen. She ran up to her room crawling on the ceiling. I got to my room. Boxes were everywhere, labeled Aztec's stuff, and fragile. Aztec moved throughout the room in search for some object. She opened box after box and then she remembered. Under her bed. She reached under and felt her phone, given to her from an outsider she used to secretly date. She had music on it that she would listen to. He door flew open and her mother was in the doorway. Her face was in a state of shock.
"How are you here!?" She yelled."the chief banished you!"
"Mother it's me!" She said pointing to herself.
"You are not my daughter!" She saw her bow. The arrow splattered in blood.
"I didn't know what else to do! You should understand!" She fought.
"I do understand! You're a monster! There is a darkness in you!"
"You always say that mom y-"
"Don't call me mother!"
"Okay what shall I call you, um how about the understander?" She mocked." You always say that the understander! You don't know that!"
"Leave!"
"Okay mom! You never liked me!" She said as she left tossing the lighter and running out toward the forest with her headphones on covering her ears, as the town burns behind her. She lets the static take her.
