The cold breeze of air touching our skin as we stride along the river of people is quite refreshing. We've been under the heat of sun for almost three hours. Nandito kami ngayon sa isang fair para raw makapag-"bonding" kami. Insisted by you-know-who, Jamie. She reasoned out that we need to at least have a break lalo na't kakatapos lang namin mag-exam last week. And her meaning of "break" is this: going out to a fair, riding all the rides, and attending every stall as much as possible.

It's fine for me and Al, but Loki, you asked? He seemed to be "enjoying" it. Honestly, I couldn't really tell. I was expecting him to scream his lungs out when we were in The Vikings, but his poker face says otherwise. Nagmukha tuloy siyang robot dahil halos walang emosyon ang mukha niya. Imagine if someone dared to take a picture of him in that ride, I'm sure it will be meme-worthy.

He was pale though.

Hindi ko nga alam kung paano namin napilit si Loki na sumama sa amin. Maybe he realized that we never really had a bond over an actual "fun" stuff other than solving cases. Loki thinks differently from a normal human being.

"There it is!" Jamie squealed. Ahead of us is the famous wishing well in this carnival fair named Wish Come True. Just by reading its name, I can tell already that it's really lame and unbelievable. Can't they think a better name? Parang hindi man lang sila nag-effort pangalanan yung stall nila.

But what I couldn't tell is the reason why people keep going in there, saying their wishes on a token, and throwing it in the "magical" well.

"Do we really need to go in that dumb thing?" A person with monotous voice complained. We faced him as he munch the burger he's been eating. He got it when we decided to rest earlier. Nag-excuse siya habang namumutla pa rin at sinabing may pupuntahan. Halos inabot din siya ng dalawampung minuto bago bumalik. And when he came back, may dala siyang lemonade, fries, at burger.

"Sige na, Loki-dear! Last naman na 'yan na papasukan natin eh!" Jamie pleads  as she clung onto his arm. A typical sight to see.

I heard Loki "tsk-ed". He finished his food and threw his trash in the garbage can beside him.

"Wala namang mawawala 'di ba? Pagbigyan na natin si Jamie." Al replied gently which I agreed. May point nga naman siya. At saka para matapos na rin 'to. We've been here for three hours. Gusto ko nang magpahinga.

"I'm not falling in that long line." Napatingin ako sa mga taong pumipila papasok sa Wish Come True and nakakabagot ngang pumila 'pag ganiyan kahaba ang pila.

I noticed Jamie in a state of being hopeless and was about to cry. Maybe she never experienced this or she have a wish she wanted to come true.

"I agree with Al. Wala namang mawawala, so why don't we try falling in line and going in there?" Trying to convince him is hard. "Besides, last naman na itong pupuntahan natin."

I don't even know why are we arguing about going in or not when the answer is actually obvious. It's 3 versus 1, so his rants will be useless.

"Fine. This will never happen again." He muttered.

Jamie's face brightened up and hugged Loki.

"Thank you, Loki dear!" She clasped her hands and stared at the wishing well with full of hope.

We started walking towards the line when I noticed my shoelaces were untied. Pausing to tie them back, a conversation between two teenagers was heard.

"Uy! Narinig mo ba 'yong secret about sa wishing well na 'yan?" I sensed them stopped a meter away from me. Probably deciding if they'll go in line or not.
