Confinement

Chapter 4

In the middle of 2 mountains in the distance, a small valley, was a mine, it looked like a coal mine. There must be life there, and some transport, there had to be! All I needed was a car, some transport to escape the forest, that, was my hope.

I started to head towards the mine, jumping over any rocks or falling trees that happened to lie in front of me. After about 5 minutes I heard some growling from wild animals, I was scared, but I could always rely on my power. Hopefully. After about 10 minutes of heading in the same direction, I found that I had a river to cross, but it was dangerous. The flow of the water was fast, too fast. If I tried to swim across, I may get pulled by the water and drown, and if I tried jumping on the rocks I may slip and drown. There was no way across. Damn!

But looking at my reflection in the water made me remember what I looked like, I started to forget after 7 years, I have white hair, which sort of surprised me, I don't remember that. I have brown eyes, and i'm pretty tall as well, cool. My hair was pretty long, and combed down, they kept my hair neat so it wouldn’t affect their daily experiments. But after staring at how I looked, I realised my situation.

There was no way around the river, I couldn't swim, or jump.

But I could fly.

It was a stupid idea, no, crazy, but I had no other choice. I controlled a nearby falcon that was watching me, it was tough, but I made it grab my body and slowly, we got some height. No, making a bird carry a 13 year old boy was too crazy, the falcons wings gave up, and I couldn't do anything about it, we fell about 10 feet, it hurt. But I wasn't going to give up, I knew my new idea was crazy, but if it worked I could make it. If I could control more than one bird, I could easily fly over, but it was a stupid idea. I scanned the area, I found 5 birds flying around. It could work. I gained control of one, then after struggling, I gained power over the second, but this took so much energy. If I was even going to manage this, I would need practice, and time.

I knew trying to fly over was never going to work. I was going to die. I was stuck here, and I couldn't try swimming through the river, I would drown easily. Suddenly the bushes to my right moved and a growling sound game from inside of the bush, it was a bear.

I had no energy, I couldn't control it, I had to fight it. But my strength was almost nonexistent, I was chained up for 7 years, my muscles hurt just moving. Damn. I really was going to die here.

The bear, it made its move, and attacked...
