nishinoya yuu

He saw it. He didn't mean to look, but he saw it. A hickey. A hickey, that he didn't make, on your neck.

"Ryu, we need to have a serious talk." Nishinoya sternly told his taller friend. Was talking about it with Tanaka really going to help him understand, when Tanaka might possibly not even have any advice for him? But, he didn't really have any one else to talk about this with, and he can't just keep the itching feelings inside of him.

"Noya-san? Sure, what's up?" He replied, giving his attention to Nishinoya. "Is this about (l/n)?"

Gasping, Nishinoya slammed his hands on Tanaka's desk. "How'd y-" Nishinoya paused, thinking about it. "Nevermind that, I need some help-" The bell sounded, interrupting what he was going to say. "... Gah, I'll talk to you at lunch!" Waving Tanaka goodbye, he hopped out of the classroom, headed for his own.

Nishinoya scribbled in his notebook during the lecture. He couldn't focus because of that.. hickey. Were you actually going out with him out of pity? He couldn't stop thinking about all the possible reasons of why you were dating him, or why you had a hickey on you. He wasn't that tall, so maybe you cheated on him for someone taller. He knew he was quite childish, so maybe you wanted someone more mature. His head hurt from thinking, but he couldn't not think about it. Was he overreacting?

The bell rang, signalling that class was over and that lunch break was now in session. Right when the sound of the bell reached Nishinoya's ears, he grabbed his bento and stood up as fast as he could from the nerves he'd had all morning. "Um, Noya-kun-" you call out to him, but it was as if he couldn't hear you. He rushed out, heading to Tanaka's classroom.

"Ryuu!!" He shouted, sliding across the floor and stopping right at Tanaka's desk. "Listen, listen," Nishinoya started off, spilling out all of the juicy details and concerns he had to Tanaka. About the hickey, about the possible reasons, everything.

Tanaka listened to Nishinoya's rambles while he ate quietly, nodding and humming in response to show that he was listening. "Hmm, I see.." he nodded, his eyes closed, brows furrowed and his thumb and index finger on his chin. "Well, I can't really say anything for sure but..." Tanaka responds, trailing off.

"But...?!" Nishinoya questions, his brows also furrowed, and eyes widened.

".. isn't it better to just confront (l/n) about it?"

"Huh?"

Clearing his throat, Tanaka looks into Nishinoya's eyes. "Well, you won't know until you ask, right? (l/n) isn't a bad or mean person, so I'm sure they would tell you the truth. They're an angel, actually! Too nice to even possibly be human."

Nishinoya grumbled, stuffing a piece of fried chicken in his mouth. "Well, I'm not that stupid! It's just.. I'm scared." he mutters, looking down at his food. "What if we break up? What if they really did date me out of pity..? And maybe if they still do love me, what if I ruin everything.."

Watching Nishinoya be in such distress, stressed out Tanaka himself. "... Ahh, this isn't like you, Noya-san!" He blurted. "The Noya-san I know is someone who's stubborn, resilient and strong!! If you can't even confront (l/n), then how do you expect to confront stronger opponents?!"

Tanaka's sudden speech got Nishinoya on his feet. "... Ryuu," Nishinoya breathed. "RYUU!!"

"NOYA-SAN!!!"

"RYUU!!!!"

"NOYA-SAN!!!!!!"

After shouting each other's name for a bit, they gave each other a tight, manly hand clasp. "Thanks, Ryuu. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Hehe, no problem. Anything for my bro, Noya-san!"

After volleyball practice, Nishinoya waited at the gate for you, waiting for you to finish up your club activities. "Sorry, did I keep you waiting?" You ask, panting slightly after jogging up to your boyfriend.

Nishinoya jumped, his body was stiff from anxiety. He's never felt like this before, not even in a volleyball match. "N-not at all! I just got finished with practice. Let's head home!"

"Oh? Yeah.." Noticing the stutter, and the weird personality Nishinoya had all day, you gently take a hold of his hand. "Hey, Noya-kun," you say, looking down at your feet as you walked down the hill Karasuno was located on. "Are you hiding something from me?"

His grasp on your hand tightened from shock, and his body was even stiffer than before. "Wh-wh-what did you say?! Hiding something?! Not at all!! Hahah-haha-!"

"Noya-kun."

Gulping, Nishinoya remembered what Tanaka told him. "... Hickey. Why do you have a hickey on your neck? I don't remember ever making that on you." His large, brown orbs come into contact with yours, as serious as they are when he's playing in a match. They gave you chills, even though you couldn't see them as well from the night sky.

"H-hickey? On my.." you reach to touch your neck with a flustered face. "Oh! You mean this?" You laughed.

"Eh?"

"You did give it to me."

"No, I never-"

"You did! You fell asleep on my shoulder when you came over to my house, remember? You gave me a hickey in your sleep." You explained to him, a sweet yet mischievous grin plastered on your face.

He gave you a hickey in his sleep? What? So that's what it was? Nishinoya let out a deep sigh, and fell to the ground. "Haah.. so that was it."

Trying to pull your melted boyfriend back up on his feet, you chuckle at the sight of his relaxed self. "I wouldn't cheat on you. I.. love you too much to cheat on you, okay?"

Nishinoya sprung up back on his feet, and embraced you in a firm hug. "Haha, of course! There's no way you could cheat on someone as cool as me, right?!" He squeezed you with every ounce of strength he had, as if he were transferring all of his love to you. Though you almost had your life taken from you with Nishinoya's incredibly tight embrace, you hugged him right back. Giving him a small, chaste kiss on his cheek, you grinned at his stunned face.

"... I love you, (l/n)." He breathlessly spoke, losing himself in your shiny orbs reflect the glow of the stars.

"Me too."
