Thursday, 3rd of January.

Today was the day. The day we were leaving.

Oh, I should probably introduce myself, my names Sage, I have long light brown hair. I was born with Heterochromia (which means I have two different coloured eyes) my right eye is blue and my left is green, because of this I get picked on a lot at school, which means I don't have many friends, and right now, I have no friends.

Anyway back to what I was saying, today we're leaving. My mum, dad, big brother, baby sister and I all live in a small 3 bedroom apartment, but my father is getting transferred to Edinburgh, and we are leaving today. My father has already been to sort out the furnisher and all that stuff. Right now it's 1:00 in the morning, my family is getting up in 15 minutes but I couldn't sleep. Everything is new, this journal, the year, where we're going to live. My mum says it'll be nice to get a fresh start at everything, but I think it'll suck, at school at the moment nobody talks to me, but they all used to make fun of me so I'm fine with them not talking to me, but when we move and I start at the new school no one will know me and they'll all make fun of me :(.

We're at our new house now, by the looks of it it's fairly big (I wonder how much more money dads making) it's REALLY late and dark here so no one can really tell what the house looks like. I would have journaled earlier but Sadie (my little sister) was crying as soon as we entered the airport.

I'm going to go to sleep now because I'm so tired.
Night!

Friday 4th January

So it's the next day, I am very 'unique' and I don't get jet-lagged, so I'm not tired. I don't get it either. My mum says I'm 'unique' I just say I'm weird. But not a bad weird just a weird. So I'm not tired, so I woke up at 8:00, 8:00 isn't early for me, I usually wake up at 7:00 but it's the weekend till Monday. Because we got here on a Thursday, no one starts anything till Monday, my father doesn't start work and my brother and I don't start school until Monday, my mum writes children's books because she loves it and so she can stay home Sadie. BTW Sadie is 10 months old and my older brother Henry is 15 and I'm 13 (just thought you should know).

It's 12:30 and mum and I are going out for a 'girls day' while dad, Henry and Sadie hang at the new home and eat lunch.

The first thing we did was eat lunch.
"Where do you wanna eat?" asked mum.
"I don't know," I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Well why don't we have Subway?" asked mum pointing across the road.
We hardly ever get Subway so I didn't say no!
We walked across the road and ordered our Subway, it was freezing so we sat down inside and ate there.
"Are you excited for school?" asked mum.
"I guess," I said as I took the first bite of my sandwich.

Mum and I got our nails done and then we did some shopping, actually, the shopping was so much fun. We went to loads of shops and mum said we could get loads of stuff. We went to shoe shops (can't remember the names) and I got a pair of runners, a new pair of high tops, a pair of Converse and a pair of boots! I know! father got a huge raise and bonus money so we had heaps we could spend! Then we shopped for some clothes. I got a new cute warm green jacket with a hood, a three long sleeve tops, some scrunchies, some warm socks, and more, and some jewellery from the next store! It was the best day!

Then we had to go home. We had so many bags we could hardly carry everything! When we walked in the door father and Henry were watching tv while Sadie was asleep in Henry's arms and when they saw us their jaws dropped!
"How much did you get?" asked Henry.
"How much did you spend?!" asked dad.
I took all my bags and went to my room as quickly as I could so I didn't have to have the 'how much did you spend!' conversation. I took everything out to admire them.
