ROSEWOOD

TYLER sighed loudly as she dropped on the barn's couch, her feet soon finding their place on her little sister's lap. She looked around, noticing how the blonde beauty of the group was nowhere to be seen. "Where were you?" asked Aria, her big eyes blinking slowly at her sister. Tyler shrugged, a little smile playing on her lips.

"What, mystery boy again?" questioned Spencer with a smirk on her face, her hands gripping a red cup still filled to the brim with vodka. "It's called mystery for a reason, Spence!" laughed Hanna, her body snuggling closer to the older girl's. Emily laughed softly at that, her cheeks already a rosy pink due to the vodka tea she was sipping and the presence of the beauty in the room.

Tyler rolled her eyes with a smile, her heart filling at the light banter of the four younger girls. While they were mostly her little sister's friends, in the last year Tyler had became closer with them - what with being in most of their classes because of the past two years' problematic grades.

Thunder rumbled outside and the music that was playing softly in the background, the newest hit from Drake, stopped its course abruptly. The girls looked around scared as the dim lights they had started flickering. "What happened?" whispered a scared Emily, her big doe eyes finding comfort in Tyler's relaxed face. "It must be the storm," reasoned Spencer, drowning the last of her drink and getting up, torch in hand.

"Something's out there," squeaked Aria, her black polished nails scratching her nape just like when she was a kid. The wooden door of the barn opened slowly, croaking loudly as flashes of light illuminated the room. Tyler chuckled at her friends, walking slowly towards the door with them surrounding her. They all screamed as a blonde came into sight, before both her and Tyler started laughing loudly.

"Gotcha!" smiled Alison, her white teeth coming to show. "That's not funny, Alison!" scolded Spencer, before sending a glare to the oldest who was still chuckling under her breath.

Alison pouted childishly, linking her arm with Tyler's. "Ty's laughing though," she defended, a grin playing on her lips. Aria scoffed at her best friends, her slim finger pointing to her older sister. "Ali, the dumbass used to launch herself off the stairs because it was fun."

Tyler made a strangled noise at her sister's words, before shaking it off with a laugh. It was true, anyway. The girls shook their heads at their friends, before moving back to the center of the barn. Alison stared at her friends, a fond smile tugging at her lips, as she handed a cup of vodka to Aria.

"Did you download the new Beyoncé's?" asked Hanna, her legs tugged under her oversized sweater. Tyler played softly with her blonde hair, admiring how soft they were. Alison shook her head, "Not yet." Emily smiled softly, "I'm loving her new video."

Allison's smile turned biting, her voice pungent. "Maybe a little too much, Em." Tyler glared at the blonde, as her right hand circled Emily's. The younger girl sent her a small smile, before laying her back on the couch. Aria took a sip of her drink, the awkward tension too much to bare.

"Careful, Aria. Take too much and you'll tell us all your secrets," commented Spencer, amused at her friend's disgusted scrunch of nose. They four young girls would never say it out loud, but they all thought that Alison wasn't that good at mixing drinks - Tyler's were better, still full of alcohol but they usually were made perfectly for each of them, using sodas the older girl knew they adored. Ali's method was simpler, but not much effective. She just poured the vodka in a cup, added barely any Coke and handed it to them.

"Friends share secrets. That's what keeps us close," smiled Alison, ignoring her older friend's look. "Drink up."

ARIA groggily opened her eyes, the pounding in her head making it hard to keep them that way. She gasped loudly at the soreness of her throat, slowly looking around the barn. Hanna was sleeping on one of the sofas, her chubby face squished on one of the cushions. Emily and Tyler were a few feet away from her, hugging eachother tightly as their soft breathing filled the room.

Her hand went up, tugging Hanna off the couch as soon as she noticed that two of their friends were missing. "What?" groaned the blonde, her voice merely a croak. Aria ignored her, stumbling towards the two sleeping just a few ways from them. She shook Emily's shoulder, already knowing that Tyler wouldn't wake up unless someone dropped an atomic bomb on her.

"Em?" she called out, her voice shaky. The brunette looked around just as Hanna did, the latter looking confusedly at the shorter girl. "Where's Ali and Spencer?" Aria shook her head, muttering softly a response under her breath.

Hanna chuckled softly when she heard Tyler snoring away, before turning towards the door of the barn as it opened, the soft pink light of a new morning filtering in the room. "Ali?" asked Aria, just before Spencer came into view.

"She's gone," she said, her eyes glaring in confusion at the floor. Aria tilted her head, not really getting what her friend wanted to say. "What do you mean she's gone?" The Hastings girl looked up, her eyes scared as she finally allowed the panic to show on her face.

"I've looked everywhere for her. I think I heard her scream."
