Blue sighed, "C'mon Cancer! You need to get over it."
I glared at him, "I can't get over it! Besides, my name isn't Cancer."
"But that's what everyone is calling you now, aren't they?" Blue looked at her curiously, his teal-green eyes reminded her of the ocean.
"Yes, but I don't want my real name forgotten," I sighed, running my hand along the side of my face, where the mark of Cancer had embedded itself in a smoky greyish-blue color. I looked in the mirror, seeing my light blue hair fade into a bluish grey. My eyes were the color of the sea, dimming in sadness because of recent events. I looked down at my turquoise dress, ribbons had extended from my belt to cover my wrists. My beautifully decorated dress was coated neatly with sparkles, and as you looked lower, you'd see the turquoise turn into a blue green. It had reminded me of my old home by the beach. Where my family had probably cheered and partied every night, since being the Cancer meant that the people of my world idolize me, as if I were their goddess. But truly, I wasn't. I was just Altalune Castellar. A teenage girl who never wanted to rule the world. All I wanted was to live happily with my family at their beach house.
"My Cancer, please. You must take this seriously! The people of this world need you! Most of the other Zodiac Gods have either refused their destiny or have run away from society. You're the only one, alongside Aries, who hasn't refused." Blue interrupted my thoughts. His midnight blue hair had fit his name perfectly, along with his eyes, his magnificent eyes of stormy ocean weather. He wore a dark blue suit with the Cancer symbol sewn over his heart. Blue was loyal to the belief that those who possessed a mark on their face were chosen to lead us all, "We have no idea when your powers will manifest. Even Aries has only gained his Strength."
"Well, maybe I don't want them to come. Have you ever thought that I don't want to be this?!" I yelled angrily, then sighed. My mother and my father were a Cancer, like me. But my younger sister was a Libra, which meant she had the choice to move to the Libra side of the Earth. But she refused, because she loved us. The way we decide our Zodiacs here on Earth is by this machine called a Constellation Detector. A man named Archibald Aslan first invented it, and discovered he was a Leo. It suited him indefinitely, because after he had promoted the product, the world treated him like he was a king. He loved to get away and act as well, plus he always had the most expensive things. Rumor has it, that his children are one of the Zodiac Gods.
Blue looked at me and sighed, "Listen, it's not a choice. The people have spoken, and they don't know what else to do."
I looked downwards, I was on the edge of bursting into tears, "I just want to see my family again."
"I know, my Cancer, but you can't. Even if we really wish we could, we can't." Blue held me close to him, blushing as he grew close to my face. I pushed him away, "Blue..."
Blue gasped, then stepped backwards, "My greatest apologies, my Cancer."
I dipped my head, "You're forgiven, Counceller Blue."
Blue nodded his head, then walked away silently.
I sighed and stared out my ginormous bedroom window, smiling at the ocean. Its waves had always found a way to calm and protect me, even in the darkest times. I looked down upon the city, well I suppose it was my city now. And I'd noticed that there was a chariot with the symbol of Aries on the side. I rushed over and checked my digital calendar, and surely enough, today was the day. The first time I get to meet Aries, leader of the Aries Society.
