summary
rory gilmore is twenty-four when she leaves the mainland for hawaii after her career in journalism hits a dead-end. one of her old college roommates from her first year at yale had a spare room, and on a whim she moved to the small island for a fresh start.
kono was seventeen when she blew out her knee and was still on crutches when she started at yale the next fall. when she met rory, they became friends and even when they went separate ways after first year. when kono heard she was needing a new career, kono offered her a room and convinced her to join the academy with her, and then a year later are on an elite taskforce.
