Leaving camp

The wind rumbled through the trees. The song that the birds sing makes Traci's ears pierced with pain this is when Traci knew that she should have never left camp.

2 Days earlier

"Hey sweetie are you ready to leave!" screamed Traci's dad

"Yup I have everything ready," Traci said. Traci, her mom, dad, and sister were going camping. They were camping at their favorite spot, Meadow Lake. Meadow Lake was a beautiful place there were flowers crystal clear water and lots of beautiful trees. the thing is, at night something always seems off no owls or crickets are chirping, everything is silent, you couldn't even hear the waterfall. Traci was always scared to use the bathroom at night until this one night

"Ok, we are here!" Traci's mom said. They got out of the car and headed to meadow lake.

"come Traci..." said a strange voice

"What mom?" Traci said confused

"I didn't say anything?"

"Oh ok," they continued walking. They got to camp and they set up their tents, a BBQ, and a fire to roast marshmallows.

"Yummy these hot dogs are delicious," said Traci's sister. After dinner and some spooky camp stories, the went into their tents and got ready for the night. Traci's dad put out the campfire. Traci, her sister, mom, and her dad went into their tents and went to bed. Traci had to use the bathroom but she was scared to go outside alone. after several minutes of debating whether or not she should go outside, she did, but it was a huge mistake... Traci went outside into the forest

"Traci, come to us...." Said a distant voice. Traci hid behind the tree and used the bathroom. she saw something glowing in the forest so as the curious 11-year old that she is she followed it. when she got to it, it disappeared. it suddenly got very dark and loud. roars called from the distance. tiny men started dashing toward her

"AHHHHHH!!!!!" she screamed. She ran back to her tent when.

*Bong..." she bounced back. It's like there is an invisible force field she pounded on the force field trying to get away but finally, she just started running. Traci found a cave with no one in it. it seemed like someone has been here before. the cave had a door on in so that it was like a little house. there were shelves with what looks like a jar of food and she saw a teacup that looked like it was made of stone. she went over to it and it was still hot. she thought that this was someone's house. like someone else got tapped in here.

"Who are you!" screamed a voice

"Ahhhhhh!" screamed Traci

"Answer me!" the person screaming this looked around 13 years old. the person was holding a spear

"My name is Traci Woodman. I went to use the bathroom and then I saw something glowing. I went to it and I couldn't get back to my camp" the figure came closer it put the spear down and looked at Traci

"Who are you?" said Traci.

"My name is John Anater. the same thing happened to me?"

"how long have you been here?" asked Traci

"A few months I think. I got here when I was 12"

"oh cool, I just got here. did you make this cave all by yourself?" asked Traci

"Yup but you have to be careful the forests motto is 'if you hurt the trees we hurt you' so be careful if you cut wood or this will happen" John shows scars on his arms

"ok I'll try to remember" they talk about themselves when this happens

"Omg have you seen pong? It just came out like last year! It's so cool!"

"Pong? That came out in like 1972?" Said Traci is a confused tone

"Yeah, it's 1973?"

"No, it's not it's 2020?!"

"WHAT no no no you're messing with me."

"No, I'm not! You've been in here for 47 years!" they both were startled  

it was the next day and they haven't spoken since they were both outside when they heard a rustling sound in the bushes   

"AHH what was that!" Traci yelped 

"I don't know.." john said shivering they both crept to the bush Traci took a stick and slowly poked at it 

"Ouch!" said a random voice

"AHHHHHHHH!!!" Traci and John screamed,

"who is that!?" john said. the figure slowly crawled out of the bushes 

"I'm Alice"

"wait what is your last name?" john said

"baker?" Alice said confused

"no.. it can't be"
