A cloaked figure walks towards the home of the Potter's in Gordic's Hallow. The figure's eyes shined red in the darkness of the night. Once the figured reach the home and set the wards off, shouts could be heard from within. Lord Voldemort blasted the door open and was confronted by James Potter, wandless.

"Step aside Potter." Voldemort hissed. "Only two people need to die tonight."

"I won't let you anywhere near my family!" James shouted and charged, prepared to fight bare handed. But with a simple wave of his wand Voldemort killed James with the killing curse.

Voldemort headed upstairs to where he heard noises. As he reached the top of the stairs he was almost hit with multiple curses that he easily blocked.  Lily Potter had shot multiple spells at him before retreating into a room down the hall. Voldemort followed and saw it was a nursery. And behind Lily were his two original targets, sitting in a crib. Harry James Potter and his twin Lily Sirius Potter Jr.

"Stand aside girl." Voldemort said. "Only they need to die tonight. And i plan to make it quick and painless." Voldemort hated that he had to do this. But that meddlesome old cot had given him no choice.

"I will not let you touch my children." Lily Screamed and brandished her wand.

Voldemort sighed and lowered his hood, revealing a handsome man of noble birth, his brown hair styled of one of nobles, yet his eyes glowed red. "I do not cherish killing, as many said I do. But if you do not stand aside there will be four deaths tonight instead of three." Voldemort almost said in a pleading tone.

At that Lily fired spell after spell. After the volley of spells Voldemort sent the killing curse at Lily to give her a quick death. He looked towards the children. "Don't worry young ones." He said softly "You'll see your parents soon."

He armed his custom made killing curse that allowed him to kill multiple people at once. But it put them into an endless sleep, so they wouldn't suffer. As he did the spell backfired and rebounded back at him and tore his soul from his body leaving the two children completely unharmed. Except for a lighting bolt scar on their foreheads above their eyes.

Dumbledore grinned evilly as his plan worked. He felt the magic ripple from the Potter's safe house.  He quickly sent Hagrid to fetch the children and bring them to their aunt's house. He then went to said house and waited at the end of the street. Soon he heard the roar of a bike and saw Hagrid coming on a flying motorbike. The bike landed and with tears in his eyes he handed the two children to Dumbledore. Wordlessly Dumbledore set the two children on the porch of 4 Private dr. with a letter and left.

He smiled as he recalled the note he left. The note said "Beat the magic out of these two children."
The Durselys were shocked to see two babies on their porch in the morning, but quickly took them in.

But what they or Dumbledore know was that Lady Magic herself decided that she will have things her way. As she changed the fates Five thrones in a court glowed with power to be undiscerned for years.
