As she walks down the aisle, I find myself wishing I was the one she walked towards. But instead I watch as she says o do to the man she claims is the love of her life. I want her to be happy, so I say nothing. I stand holding her bouquet because I'm just a bridesmaid. . .
I walk her down the aisle, sad not because I'm giving her away, but because I was giving her away to someone she did not love. I walk her down the aisle not saying anything, because after three failed marriages of my own she wouldn't listen to me. After all I'm only her dad. . .
I watch the love of my life marry the wrong girl wondering why I was invited. I was his girl on the side until just days ago. He should be afraid that I'd tell her. Instead I sit quietly watching and wondering, for I am just a guest.
