Y/N P.O.V

The large iron clad gates of school stood in front of me as I shoved my phone and AirPods away into one of the pockets of my schoolbag. I hauled my school bag back onto my back and climbed the three flights of stairs to my locker. Alex, stood leaning against my locker, hands in the pockets of his jeans and one leg up against the bottom locker with a model like smoulder painted on his face. I approached him panting; Note to self, go to the gym more often. I spun the combination lock and swung my locker open, letting it hit Alex in the stomach.

"Ooh, we're grumpy today aren't we?" Alex joked.

I stared at him, lips open slightly and eyes half closed, "No, I'm so tired. I studied until two-forty this morning,"

Alex glanced at me, his mouth now open and his eyes wide, "I know your parents want you to succeed in life, but you need a break,"

I opened my mouth to respond back but our principal Mr. Goffin walked up to us, a tall, lanky boy with dirty blonde curtains in tow. I shoved my bag into my locker and then glanced sideways at Alex. Alex has always had a much better communication level with teachers than I had.

"Morning y/n and Alex," Mr. Goffin exclaimed.

"Morning sir," I grumbled under my breath.

Alex turned to him and shook his hand politely, then shook the boys hand behind Mr. Goffin. Mr. Goffin fell into an easy conversation about the schools football team with Alex; Alex was enjoying it, especially when he started talking about the rivals and how the teams summer camp had really improved their team work. I continued slowly grabbing books from my locker putting them in the crook of my arm. By the time I had sorted my books out and wanted to close my locker Alex was using the top of it as an armrest as him, while Mr. Goffin and the other kid listened. I pushed some hair out of my face and put my other arm under the pile of books to give it a little extra support.

"Y/n and Alex, I wanted to introduce you to Chance; it's his first day and you know how I am," Mr Goffin bluffed, "I never want anyone to be left out,"

After some quick introductions Mr. Goffin patted Alex and Chance on the shoulders then walked back the way he came, conversing with one of the girls on the student council as he walked. The way he was talking with the girl made me think there was more than just a student and principal relationship, however, I maybe overthinking it as my overprotective parents had taught me to. Another note to self, don't ever work that closely with Mr. Goffin. Alex and Chance were both staring at me. It was then when I realised Chance looked a lot like my favourite artist and idol, Ruel. Another thing that caught my attention was the fact that Chance was also wearing something like Ruel had recently worn; a white to red fleece turtleneck, a white button up could be seen peeking out from the bottom of his turtleneck touching the stark black waistband of his pants.  I felt a burning feeling as though people were staring at me, waiting for me to comprehend what they were saying, then I realised, people were waiting for me to respond.

"Sorry, what?" I stammered, making it sound as though I wasn't appealing English.

Both Chance and Alex laughed and I smiled, a little embarrassed.

"I was just saying that you are one crazy soul," Alex explained.

"I guess I am," I replied with a small shrug.

"Two-forty-am is a crazy hour to be studying at," Alex added and Chance gasped.

"Two-forty?!" He exclaimed, "A.M?!"

I nodded, and Alex opened his mouth to reply, "Her parents are nuts; she has no freedom,"

A sound that I dreaded played loudly over our heads; the bell's metallic ring echoed in the small hallway. I glanced at Alex and Chance; Alex shifted from my locker and I closed it with a slam. Chance and Alex ran their hands through their hair, almost in an identical movement; I stifled a laugh as I watched them fist pump each other and celebrate their newly born friendship.

"Yo, who's your homeroom teacher?" Chance questioned.

"Mrs. Calcaneus," Alex and I answered in unisonic harmony.

Chance looked at us in a slight disbelief, "Same. Also, that was in such harmony. Do you guys sing?"

Alex laughed as he rummaged through his locker, "Nah, we don't. Y/n used to sing in the choir though,"

I blushed, "No, I really didn't. I did it because my friends begged me,"

Chance looked at me as we walked, "I'm sure you were a good singer,"

I smiled at him, "Thanks,"

Alex, Chance and I slipped into the spare seats in the front row unnoticed as Mrs. Calcaneus called the role. My mind wouldn't let me focus on the homeroom notices, my mind was on Chance. I couldn't get over how much Chance looked like Ruel.
