For the next few days I tried to stay away from him. I really wanted to see him but I wanted to spend time with my cousin and just enjoy being in Hawaii. But it was hard staying away from him! And I mean he was everywhere, Like everywhere.
When Lauren and I wanted to get some snow cones, he was there. When I went snorkeling, he was there, with his hilarious fish googles, which made me choke because I breathed water when I was laughing.
AND when I to the local market, HE WAS THERE! I was with one of my aunts, Terra, and her daughter, Brooke. Terra went to grab something so I pulled Brooke out of her car seat that was sitting in the cart. Brooke is only 5 months old so I plopped her on my hip and started bouncing her up and down, up and down... I was showing Brooke all the things on the shelf when I turned around and he was there. My mouth dropped open and Brooke started crying.
"Don't worry doll." He said and kissed my cheek. I nearly passed out. He took Brooke from me and put her over his shoulder and started patting her back. I wanted to drop to the floor and start screaming, I was so happy. But I have to play hard. So I pulled myself together, laughed and put my hand on my hip.
"I'm nobody's 'doll' right now. But thanks for the compliment." Just as I said that three boys his age showed up and started saying stuff like 'ohhh' and 'burnn'.
I grabbed Brooke, who wasn't crying anymore, and put her on my hip. I swayed my hips back and forth as I turned around and walked away. As I walked I could hear what they were saying.
"I call dibs!"
"Wow"
"I'd like to get her number" one said and then I heard someone smack him and he replied with 'owwww, okay, okay. She's yours, fine'.
I smiled as I turned the corner and saw Terra with her hand in the air. I jumped in the air and smacked it and Brooke starting giggling.
"Wow, that was amazing. He's cute, like really cute." She smiled
"Yeah, sure. I don't really care." I turned my head and grabbed a chip bag and put it in the cart.
"Ohhhh, trying to play hard I seeeee. He'll come back. But be careful. You don't want to be too mean or too oblivious or he will loose feelings for you."
"No I won't!" Someone yelled from across the market.
"That was him" I giggled into her arm, embarrassed but happy.
She was laughing too. She put Brooke into her seat and started pushing the cart down the aisle.
"Hey, can you get me some soda for the BBQ tomorrow?" She asked.
"Yeah, sure!" I walked down the row and saw the sign that said 'party needs' so I went down it. I walked very slowly, trying to see if he was on the other side. He wasn't. I sighed and turned around and choked because.... he was there.
