1:07pm.
As the count down begins, my anxiety level is slowly rising. This is all just a dream right? A news banner flashes across the television and the reporter comes into view.
"Hello, we currently have an update on the asteroid. Here is Bill at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. To you Bill."
"Thanks Mary. I'm currently standing here with Michael Collins, who is specializing in this case. Any information for us Michael?"
The reporter passed the microphone to the astronaut."Hi, yes, I've just been updated that the asteroid is moving towards earth at a speed of 50 kilometres per second. The average rate that an asteroid moves at is 25 kilometres per second. If what we are currently working on does not alter the path of the asteroid, it should hit at around 7:30 EST."
"Thank you, Michael, we'll be sure to keep you all updated, thank you for tuning in at City News."
The television screen went black and the room was silent. The silence lasted for about another 5 minutes until my mother spoke.
"Would anyone like anything to eat or drink?" She said as she stood and made her way to kitchen. Many 'no thank you's' and 'yes pleases' were heard.
2:47 pm.
Five hours. I have a little less than 5 hours of my life left. So many things I haven't done yet. So many things I could have experienced, but never got the chance to. I haven't even had my first kiss yet, pathetic, I know.
My mom hasn't stopped crying since we found out, which also triggered my dad and my two little sisters, Samantha and Aubrey, to cry, which leads to pretty much everyone that's over to cry.
When we first found out, I guess you could say I was pretty upset, I ended up locking myself in my room to cry, but now I've pretty much accepted it, after staying up late last night thinking about all the good and the bad things I've done in my life, and all the people I will miss.
We all die someday, some sooner than others, but it eventually happens, and today is the day that we all die, which sounds pretty screwed up when you think about it, but it's the truth.
