The constant beeping of my alarm woke me up. As much as I wanted to turn over and throw it against the wall, I decided that that wouldn't be the smartest idea, so instead I wrapped myself up in all my blankets that were on my bed and rolled off.
Now I had decided this was the "best" idea of them all.
I hit the ground with a thud, and sighed.
It was Monday.
Now there are two things I hate worse than Mondays; Mornings and Caramel, but still Mondays suck pretty bad.
I lazily untangled myself from the bundle I created and crawled over to my bedroom door. I gripped the door knob and pulled myself up.
With my hair flying in 50 diffrent directions and me being on all fours I probably look like a zombie stalking its prey.
Walking to the bathroom I shut the door and turned on the shower.
After a good 30 minutes of singing whatever song came to mind, and rubbing my body with strawberry body wash, I was out of the bathroom and in my room deciding on what to wear.
It was August, the first day of school, so I wanted to keep it casual.
After 10 minutes of internally debating to myself I finally picked out a oversized cream colored sweater, with a pair of dark grey leggings and my grey and black keds. I applied a little foundation to my tan skin, and a small amount of eyeliner and mascara to my golden hazel eyes.
I let my hair fall down. Its dark brown, with streaks of gold from the exposure to the sun, due to my love for nature and being outdoors. It fell down to my lower back, so I decided to curl the ends of it.
Satisfied as I'll ever be, I unplugged the curling iron, grabbed my backpack and phone, and heading downstairs. I saw my parents sitting at there usual spot. The kitchen table.
"Good Morning Ellie" I turned around to see my baby sister wave at me with a huge grin plastered upon her face.
I couldn't help but smile at her, "Good Morning Lily, are you excited for your first day of school."
Today was my sister, Lily's first day of school, so she was pretty excited as most kids her age would be.
"Very! I can't wait to make a bunch of friends and meet all of my teachers!!"
She was practically jumping up and down by now. I just padded her head. "Well we better get going you don't wanna be late for your first day." I teased.
She looked up at me with a bigger smile on her face.
"Oh, Ella don't forget to get Lily's lunch box, and have a good day" my mom said with a smile. "Ok well were about to leave, bye mom, bye dad" I said hugging them both before heading towards the door with Lily.
"Bye girls have a good first day" they both said.
After about 15 minutes of driving I finally pulled up to Lily's school. I saw a bunch of mom's walking there kids to school.
Some kids were scared, holding on to there parents, but others, like Lily were over joyed, running to the inside of the school.
I felt a ping of guilt when I knew that Lily couldn't walk with our parents. They were always too busy with work, so they never had time for us.
Over the Summer it was mostly just Lily and I at home. We would cook, watch TV, and even play dolls. Now I know what you're thinking. "Why didn't you hang out with your friends and take Lily to her friends house or something." But the truth was that I had never really had many friends and didn't really care to make any.
Friends are a waste of time and emotion just like relationships. Besides playing with Lily wasn't that bad except for the occasionally whining, it was pretty chill.
I parked my car in an empty parking space near the front of the school. I got out and opened Lily's door for her.
"Thanks Ellie." she said as she hoped out of the car.
I took her tiny hand in mine and walked to her school.
Upon closer inspection I noticed it was a pretty nice school. Evergreen trees lined the sides of the school and a water fountain was placed in the center of the sidewalk splitting it into two directions. Left and right.
It didn't come as any shock to me because I knew our parents were quite wealthy. My dad is some type of doctor, while my mom is a lawyer. But it sure did come as a shock to Lily. Her eyes were widen with curiosity and awe.
"This is my school?" she said with her mouth hung open.
"Yep." I said popping the "p". "Pretty fancy, huh?" I said nudging her arm. "Its like a... a castle" she said trying to find the right words to describe the colossal building.
I walked her inside the school to the front desk. "You can not go any further we will take it from here Miss?"
"Miss Knightdale." I confirmed "I'm Lily Knightdale's sister."
We shook hands. "Ahh, well it was nice to meet you Miss Knightdale." the lady smiled. It wasn't a fake smile, more of a genuine one, so I smiled back.
"You too." I simply stated as I walked out of the office.
Before I left I turned around and looked at Lily. We made eye contact and I whisper/said "Like a castle." and left.
I could hear her giggle as I walked through the double glass doors of the school leading outside.
I made my way over to my Camaro.
Its jet black, like a big bucket of ink was dropped on it. I washed it last week so I'd have a shiny new car for school, and now looking back, I'm glad I did.
It looked brand new. People wouldn't be suprised if it was. Our family, mostly my parents, were well known for being rich. I hate it. I always have people come up to me at school wanting to be "best friends." for the obvious reasons, since like 5th grade. Thats part of the reason I stay away from making friends.
People never see me for me.
Its annoying, so I just don't soicalize much, even though I'm a junior this year. I do have a few good friends that dont care about how much money I have. But thats about it.
After another 15 or so minutes of driving I arrive at my school. Its like Lily's school but bigger and more mature I guess. It's, I think 4 stories high with an elevator. The brick is a dark reddish brown with large polished windows scattered amoungst the walls. Large forest of evergreen on each side of the school, And a water fountain in the sidewalk similiar to Lily's school except the sidwalks leading to the school are longer.
I lazily climbed out of my Camaro and sighed.
Another day of school.
Another day of hell, I thought as I walked up to the entrance.
