Annie's POV:I stare out the window of our Mercedes Benz. How the hell did I get myself in this situation? Why when something good happens, it gets ruined by a bad event. Can I just have peace of mind for once?
"We're here," Jacob says quietly.
His voice brought me back to reality. We hadn't spoken the whole ride so hearing his voice made me feel a pang of anxiety.
Jacob parks and turns the car off. He sighs and runs his hand through his hair.
"So are you gonna talk? Or are we gonna act like you didn't just act like a drama queen?" I tell him.
He grins and looks off into space.
"What's so funny?!" I'm starting to get irritated.
He sighs again. "I told Finn he was acting like a drama queen earlier today. I guess we're a family of drama queens, huh?"
I glare at him and lean over towards him. "Oh? So you think this is a joke? Tell me who Lea is. Also why are you acting so weird?"
He glances at me. "Okay well...Lea. Um..she..well she's.."
"She's what?!" Ya, this point I'm yelling. He flinches.
"She was your mom. Lea was your biological mom, Annie."
She was. She was. She...was. I mean I never knew what actually happened to my parents, to be honest with you. Most orphaned kids don't. But the fact that I have a piece of knowledge about my mom is...relieving? I don't know what to feel. Shock? Anger that I didn't know? I mean, at least I know her name?
It feels like my whole world just came crashing down on me. Lea... was my biological mother. Wait then why would Finn have a letter for her? Was it to tell me about her? There's so much I don't know yet.
I feel a hand on my wrist. "Hey, I just kinda...dropped a lot on you right now...but....."
I turn to face Jacob. I hesitate for a moment. "There's more."
"Ok, tell me."
Jacob looks surprised. "Well, Finn...he...gets kind of- weird whenever her name comes up. I know it might confuse you right now, but it's best if you don't look too much into it for his sake. At least right now."
I nod, agreeing. "I can kinda tell, I mean he did LASH out on me a few hours ago without me knowing what the hell was going on. But I have to ask you something ."
Jacob nods and grins. " of course."
" So how exactly did you know my mom?"
Jacob shifts towards me and sits with his back to the window. "Finn, Lea, and I were childhood friends and-"
Before Jacob could finish, his phone rings. I peek over at the caller.
"Shit, it's Finn. Ugh, let's get our ice cream and go."
It's like he knew what we were talking about. We walk into the store.
"I'll have a vanilla cone and Annie? What will it be?"
"strawberry and cream."
I can't stop thinking about everything. My mom, Finn, and Jacob's relationship with her, etc. I'm just so confused. But I guess celebrity life is confusing, right?
