The world was a harsh and cruel place for Alex Maynard. Alex was a 18 year old boy who lived in the small town of Kinsley, Virginia. Alex always felt deferent but could never really put his finger on it. He of course knew that he was different in some ways than his fellow residence of Kinsley, such as he was much more modern so to say, He was a Christian but he did believe that king James and many others had changed it to suit there will over the years. And he was of course much more intelligent, everyone else in Kinsley either didn’t care or would just go with the more popular person in any debate. And he stuck out like a sore thumb in a crowd. He had longish hair that fell to his left and it was pitch black, with a pure white streak down one side. He had had the streak since birth (even though no one believed him). He was always seen wearing raggedy jeans, converse, and a tee shirt. Unless he was going to a special event with his father when he had to wear a suit, and even when he had to wear a suit he always wore the converse. And he was built very different from all the 6’ 250lbs brown haired teenage boys in Kinsley.
He was about 6’ 4” and weighed about 165 lbs. he was still very muscly and strong But he was extremely strong and fast on his feet. Even though he tried everything to keep that a secret. His father had raised him that way his mother had died when Alex was around 2 and his father kind of slipped into a state of paranoia. He wasn’t a drooling baboon he was a very bright man who presented himself well to the public and in politics (even though he tried everything to stay out of them) his father was a very rice man who owned many secret corporate companies, that Alex wasn’t to know anything about. But he was paranoid. And when he says paranoia he really means it from the age of 6 Alex’s father Zachariah had taught him many things.
Not normal things like pre-calculus or anything he could use in the world, but things like hand to hand combat and how to use anything as a weapon and how to use common weapons like guns, knives, and bows. But he also taught him how to be silent and swift in his movements. And he also taught him mythology and remembrance and cleverness. And over 32 different languages.
And Zachariah had used some of his fortune to do so. They lived in a large house just outside of the little town up on the tip top of a hill. (All by themselves) It spanned about 300 acers but that wasn’t known to everyone, because the main property had a fence around it that stood about 10 feet high with solid black poles that were attached at the top and bottom to each other. But he had also set a up a sort of cleverly placed bush garden that wet around the fences on the inside to block any outside view. To Zachariah advantage. He built a firing range and combat training center on the back of the property. And in the back of the house on the first floor was a little closet that looked like nothing you probably wouldn’t even notice it. But in that closet is a perfectly normal looking safe. And when you open it it looks like a standard safe but about half ways down on the right side is a hole about the size to put a jewelry box that you pull on that opens the safe up to a solid steel door with 2 combination locks and a retinal scanner. Once you got past the white house security the door opened to a stairwell that was about the length of a floors difference. Which then lead to an elevator. On the inside of the elevator was yet another security measure, a keypad that required 16 digits. This is where the rembrance and cleverness comes in handy. Once you got passed that you pressed the one and only other button on the elevator. It then dropped you down 300 stories in about 45 seconds. The first time Alex had done it he threw up. And once you reach the bottom there is one last security measure a voice password. Once you exit the elevator you are in a room that is about 75 feet tall and lined from floor to ceiling. One wall is pretty much any weapon you can think of. The other is reference books some of which that are about 3000 years old. And in 32 different languages. The other wall housed the combat gear. “Alex I’m leaving for a work trip ill be back in 4 days make sure you lock up and if you leave let security know.” Okay dad whatever. Alex waited about five minutes and made the journey back upstairs. When he got there sure enough there was Joshua the head of security. Hia Alex where you headed? I’m just going into town to meet up with some friends. Joshua new that was a lie he knew Alex didn’t have any friends. But there was a tracking beacon in Alex’s car so he would know where he was anyway. “Okay just call if you are going to be after 12” Ok Joshua had been more of a father to Alex then Zachariah. Alex quickly grabbed his keys and headed for the garage.
