Ana works hard, let's get that straight. She is often seen at the library, surrounded by dozens and dozens of books. Not only were they for school purposes but she also reads books for leisure that she loses track of time.
Her love for reading has always stunned her long time boyfriend, Lee Seokmin. How she looks so enhanced as her eyes grazed over every single word that was written on the book. Or how her fingers delicately flip each page, not wanting to rip it apart.
The best part is how he gets the chance to watch her read. Listening to her voice as she mumbles a word, phrase, or a sentence relaxes Seokmin and always puts a smile on his face. And in exchange for the happiness Ana brings to him, DK wanted to do something for her that involves her passion.
Back at the library, Ana sighs as she glances at her wrist watch. Darkness filled the sky and stars started to show. Ana gathers her things and started to walk home, oblivious to what's waiting for her there.
A yawn left her mouth. Ana had exams next week, that's why she basically lives in the library. All she has wanted was to take a break and relax.
Ana took her apartment's key from her pocket and unlocked the door. She frowned when she didn't hear that click sound when you unlock doors. Oh my god. I'm getting robbed!
DK stood in the middle of the room, tugging his collar in anxiousness. He could hear Ana behind the door but she was taking too long and it was making him nervous. He sighs and makes his way to the door and flings it open.
"Hello-"
"Ah! " Ana exclaims in freight, slapping the person's face. DK caresses his face as he bends over. Ana gasps and realizes who she slapped.
"Yah! Lee Seokmin! I'm so sorry! " She takes his face in her hands and kisses it repeatedly, trying to ease the pain. DK groaned then chuckles. "Why are you laughing? I hit you! Oh my- I am so so sorry. Let me get you some ice."
"No, wait-"
Ana steps inside her apartment only to find it reorganized. Her furniture was pushed aside and a beautiful fort laid in the middle of the room.
Ana's mouth was open in surprise. One) she didn't know that Seokmin would be home, two) the fort was gorgeous, and three) how did he make all of that under a few minutes?
"If you're wondering," he cuts in, holding his cheek. "I had some help, that's why nothing is destroyed."
Ana laughs and hugs her boyfriend, kissing his lips with so much love. DK deepens the kiss but remembers the plan he has in mind. He pulls away, with his hands on Ana's waist, smiling.
"Go get changed and I'll get us some snacks, yeah? "
Ana nods races to her room, quickly changing into her onesie and tying her hair into a bun. She makes her way back down and sees DK holding a bowl of chips and another bowl of popcorn. Ana grabs the dip and gets in the fort, letting out a squeal.
DK chuckles and kisses her head. "You look adorable, babe."
Ana blushes, hiding her face behind her hair. DK laughs, liking his effect on her. He then motions to the television, "movie? "
Ana's eyes glittered with excitement. "I'll pick! "
She picks her favorite movie and lies down, with DK being the big spoon. The two watched movies and fed each other like an old married couple but they didn't care. They loved each other too much to even care about how cheesy everything is.
After the movie, Ana takes a book- that DK used as decoration- and starts to read. DK smiles and mentally pats his own back when he calculated it right. He takes one book and hugs it close to his chest.
He sighs and clears his throat. "Um, Ana? "
"Hmm? " She hums in reply, turning her head to look at DK.
His heart pounded and his mouth froze. Ana notices this and gives him an assuring smile as she sits up. That was all it took to shake the anxiousness away. It works every time when DK performs with the rest of Seventeen, Ana was there with him to calm his nerves. But when she wasn't, he takes a book and scribbles a particular line from that book on a spare notebook that he usually brings with him. It's everything he wanted to say to her and, since he knows Ana's adoration for books, he wanted to mix two things up and make something that she will love.
His love for her + literature.
"You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known- and even that is an understatement," DK reads.
"F. Scott Fitzgerald," Ana automatically says in a soft voice.
DK smiles and continues.
"I have for the first time found what I can truly love. I have found you."
"Charlotte Bronte."
"Do I love you? My god, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches."
Ana let's a tear fall. DK catches it and wipes it away with his thumb. He closes the book and hands it to her. Ana delicately flips page after page, smiling when she does.
"I know you love books," he sheepishly says, fiddling with his fingers. "I made this when I had free time and when I missed you. Those quotes are everything I want to say to you... but English."
Ana laughs at that. She flips the last page only to have something fall off from in between. Ana takes the small object before gasping.
DK chuckles and gently takes the ring. He takes a deep breath and recites by heart.
"I've loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you. What would be more reasonable than to marry you? "
"Little Women," Ana whispers softly, her heart beating fast.
"Ana," DK smiles and gets on one knee. "Will you marry me? "
Ana stays awestruck. Her throat felt like it was closing but there was only one word she wants to say.
"That's by Lee Seokmin by the way," DK jokes, making Ana crack up and hug him.
"Yes," she finally says, hugging her fiancé tightly.
DK chuckles in disbelief and takes her hand in his. He slips the ring through her ring finger and kissed her with all the love he has.
"I love you."
"Even though I slapped you? "
"Yes," Seokmin laughs. "Even though you slapped me, Mrs. Lee."
