You just moved to Gotham a week ago
Your grandmother lived alone in Gotham for many years and your family was starting to get concerned for her yet nobody wanted to go live in the dangerous city.....everyone but you.
You must admit, you are the craziest in the family.
"Fuck!" You say in frustration as you drop a bag of groceries on the floor, trying to open the door with tons of bags all by yourself is quite hard.
You stop trying to open the door and grab your groceries that just fell, you struggle to keep the bags in your arms.
"Uh hey, need some help?" A voice says from another apartment, you look to see who it is and a really skinny man is standing by his doorway.
"Yes please." You say relieved that someone has come to help. The stranger walks over to you and helps grab some bags. You unlock the door but before going in you say "thank you so much!"
The man replied with "it's no problem uhhh...?" You giggle and tell the man your name "I'm y/n"
"Oh nice to meet you y/n! I'm Arthur" he says with a smile. You shake his hand and he looks down as if he's confused why you did that. "You okay?" You ask as you take your hand away. "Yeah I'm just.....not used to human contact i guess....." he says quietly.
Those words broke your heart, this poor man you thought.
"Oh....I'm sorry i..." you try and apologize but he interrupts you "no no! It's okay"
"You're new here right?" He asks trying to change the conversation. "Yes" you smile
"Y/N? IS THAT YOU?" Your grandmother calls for you inside the small apartment building.
"YES MA, I'M TALKING TO SOMEONE" you yell back.
Arthur giggles, "sorry that's my gran" you say
"Ah no problem, i live with my mom.." he says
"You know the struggles then" you laugh
"Sure do" he smiles at you
"Well i need to go, but it was nice meeting you." You say, truth is you really didn't want to end the conversation...you liked Arthurs vibe.
"Ah, okay...bye" he said with a sad tone
You frown "maybe we can go out for coffee or something?" You ask shyly
"Wha...what? Really?" He asks completely shocked
"Yes of course" you give him a soft smile "I would love to!" He says with excitement then realizes how weird he must seem right now "i mean yes I would like to"
You laugh "okay ummm whenever is good for you, maybe come by later and let me know?" You ask
"Yeah i will." He says smiling.
You didn't know what you were getting yourself into, all you knew is that this Arthur seems to be the most loving and soft man alive.
