The thing that got me into witchcraft was Divination but more specifically Tarot cards. They are the most common tool used by witches but not only to get a glimpse into the future. What the outsiders don't know is that actually most of the time tarot cards are used to get advice on avoiding possible damaging experiences. I am not saying they can't tell you the future because in most cases they tell you exactly that BUT do not forget that they, in most cases, just tell you about what YOU can DO to be prepared for the future.
Another common misconception is about 2 well-known cards and those are the Devil Card and the Death Card.
The Devil card does NOT mean you are possessed. The devil usually shows a toxic relationship/friendship or manipulation. The imagery is only there to show those exactly toxic signs.
The Death card does NOT mean you will die. People often get scared that they will die when they get that card. What they don't know is that with every ending comes a beginning. Therefore, the meaning of this card means an end to a habit, friendship, career, BUT it can also mean the exact opposites. The beginning of all these. Do not be scared or discouraged if you ever get this card because when you are scared of a card meaning you can actually attract that fear in your life. This has to do with LOA (law of attraction) which I'll be talking about in other videos.
If you want to get started on your journey to understanding the meanings of the cards I can suggest you do the following:
-shuffle the cards, just to get your energy on the deck;
-study each card and notice the details;
-write down in a notebook what YOU think each card means and then check the guide book to see if you were correct;
-start out with simple spreads;
-each morning draw out a card and remember it and at the end of the day notice if the card that you pulled out was accurate;
-you can do the exact same thing but draw the card at night to see if the card pulled has a connection with your day;These are SOME tips that I can just offer you. When it comes to purchasing the right deck I often hear that it must be given to you and that you can't buy it. I don't believe that. I am the one who bought my first deck of cards and I am totally fine and connected to it.
When you look for the deck try to see if you are drawn to the images and the type of deck.
I personally suggest you start out with the basic Rider-Waite Tarot deck. It is the classic one and the images have a lot of detail therefore it is easy for newbies to get started.
Note: Everything that I talk about is strictly from my own experiences or from the sources that I read. Every path and experience is unique therefore use this as one of the million of sources of information.
