I'm going to a concert tonight and I'm so psyched because it's my ex-boyfriend Derek's concert. I haven't seen Derek since high school and someone invited me and i said yeah I'll go. I put on Derek's black and white flannel that he gave me and my favorite sneakers that match the flannel. This is going to be so much fun (or so i thought). My friends and I get to the venue and right away I see Derek. Now Derek and I dated in high school for 3 years and he ended it because of State Champs (the band he's in). I act like I don't see him and walk into the venue. Derek yells for me and I completely act like he's not there. "Lizzie please let me talk to you! Lizzie!" My friends and I get to our seats and Derek starts blowing up my phone. I turn off my phone and try not to think about what happened in high school. But to be honest with you, i miss Derek like crazy. I keep listening to a song called "Our Time to Go". That was our song while we were together. I try to fight back tears and run outside to try make amends with Derek. "Discanio I think you're missing something in your life!" I yell "yeah i am and it's you!" he yells back. "well am i still yours forever and always?". He nods and runs up to me and kisses me. I kiss back and say "i missed you". Derek picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist and he says to me "my beauty" and I say "my beast". He puts me down and goes into the venue for rehearsals and I go back to my seat. My friends immediately figure out what happened between Derek and I because I'm wearing his necklace. "you and Derek got back together" my friend asks me. "yup". The concert starts and Derek starts the show out with "Our Time to Go" and I start to tear up because i haven't heard him sing this on any of his tours since we broke up. I hear my name and Derek is standing next to me singing our song. My face turns beet red because I'm blushing so hard. I love this kid so much and he doesn't know how much I love him. I get handed a microphone and I start singing "Where I Belong" and I'm having so much fun. I couldn't be happier with where i am today.

***The show ends***

I get ready to go home so I find Derek at the meet and greet to let him know that I'm gonna go home because I'm exhausted. He hugs and kisses me and I kiss back and take his ring and he just lets me have it. I get home and text Derek good night and fall asleep.

***the next morning***

my phone starts blowing up and it's texts from Derek with a bunch of kiss emojis and heart eyes emojis. I smile like an idiot. I text him back with a picture of my outfit of the day. It's Derek's birthday and his mom asked me if i wanted to come and surprise him and i said yes. I get to Derek's house and he's at the airport coming home so i hide somewhere where i know he won't look and I text him saying i miss him and that i wanna see him again even though i just saw him yesterday. I hear Derek's car pull in and i put my phone in my pocket and try not to make any noise. His mom says that i wasn't able to make it i had a family emergency and i try not to laugh. I'm wearing one of his hoodies that i stole from his room. It's the hoodie he wears all the time so he'll be looking for it thinking it disappeared. I hear Derek say "has anyone seen my hoodie ?" I try to not to say no but his mom says "look for it". My phone vibrates and it's a text from Derek asking me if i'd seen his hoodie and i answer with i have it. I hear footsteps near where i'm hiding. i hear my name and i answer "yeah" and Derek opens the door and he picks me up and i wrap my legs around his waist. "i thought you had a family emer- ohhhh you surprised me" i say "you're an idiot but you're my idiot" i kiss him. "happy birthday baby". Derek brings me to the couch and puts me down so that i can put my head on his shoulder. He sits down and i put my head on his shoulder and his phone goes and its the band manager asking if he could go to the airport for the next show and Derek looks at me and i look away and he goes to pack his bags and i go to the guest room and plug in my phone and put in my headphones and listen to Our time to go. After Derek leaves i go to his room because i feel safe there. When i was in high school before i started dating Derek i was abused. My mom was a drug addict and my dad was an alcoholic. One night the abuse got so bad that i ended up in the hospital with 14 stitches in my face,two black eyes, broken ribs, broken arm and 2nd degree burns. I went to Derek's after i got released from the hospital and his mom ended up taking care of me after my parents went to jail on charges of attempted murder in the 1st degree,child abuse, and assault and battery. I end up falling asleep in Derek's bed and his mom comes in and covers me with the blanket and leaves.
