Melanie and Anthony were best friends ... best friends that ended up falling in love with each other. But every happy ending runs into problems that could cause their happy ending to leave a bad taste in their mouths.
Anthony started to get involved with his dads gang, Latin Kings. Melanie wanted somebody clean, somebody to bring home to mom with a clean background. Telling her mom that her boyfriend and future husband was the leader of the Latin Kings wasn't something that she wanted to come out of her mouth.
Their relationship went to shit, she left after highschool for college. Anthony was left to mend his own broken heart while Melanie pursued her career.
