A short fanfiction I made about Sherlock and John struggling to look after baby Rosie Watson (BBC Version)

Enjoy!

....

John was exhausted.

He had been running all day on cases with Sherlock all the while taking care of little Rosie.

If only Molly hadnt run off back home to visit family then maybe he wouldnt be as tired; she was the go-to caretaker in these situations.

It was currently 02:12 on the digital clock in Johns room and he had just fallen into his bed for the second time that night.

When times got busy for both men, John usually would stay at Baker Street for several days if the cases were long and tedious.

So of course, Rosie got her own place in the flat as well.

Rosie, whose area was set up in the back of the living room between the wall and the couch, had been crying all night and John could only get her to sleep for a good 45 minutes before waking up again in a fit.

He didnt even pull the covers over him. He was asleep before his body could even comprehend he was facing the wrong end of the bed.

Sherlock, on the other hand, had made no noise from his room, which made John extremely baffled at the whole thing. Sherlock never sleeps for 8 hours at a time and when he does, he usually never is a heavy sleeper.

Frankly, John can account many occasions when he went to the kitchen just for some water and Sherlock came in asking what the ruckus was all about.

So why hasnt he woken up? At this point, John wouldnt be surprised if people could hear Rosie across the street.

And soon enough, it wasn't long until John woke up to the sound of Rosie fitting again.

He rolled onto his back and groaned.

Christ Almighty

He laid in his position for another minute, hoping by some miracle she would calm herself down.

But the crying only got louder.

Oh my dear God help me

Finally, John rolled off the bed and staggered toward the door.

He fiddled for the door knob in the dark. Im coming sweetheart. Im com

Before he opened the door, he heard the sound of Sherlocks door creaking open.

This is now what John was suspecting.

He thought Sherlock would stop by his room to wake him up.

But he didnt.

He heard Sherlocks footsteps shuffle straight to the living room.

John was about to open the door and ask what Sherlock was doing when he heard the sound of a muffled voice against the cries of the baby.

The sound wasnt what John was expecting.

He thought Sherlock was going to go in and bring Rosie to him to make him shut her up.

Its the most logical move he would make, obviously.

However, the sound he heard was something he wasnt expecting at all.

At first, John thought Sherlock was talking to himself.

The distant tone of his voice, however, told him otherwise.

Instead of his usual tone being straightforward and dry, his voice was now full of emotion and calmness.

John listened intensely, trying to figure out what he was saying.
