Chapter 190: Never Noticed, Kurokos Basketball
Word Count: 1041Kuroko stared at [name] from a distance, watching as he laughed with his friends. His smile was addicting and it made the basketball players heart skip a beat.
As [name] began to walk down the hall with his friends, Kuroko got up his confidence and walked forward, "hey, [name]-" He cut himself off when [name] didn't even look at him and moved straight past him.
Kuroko frowned, his shoulders slumping in defeat. It was always like this. He tried to talk to him but he would go unnoticed. He was invisible... in a basketball game that was a good thing, when he was trying to get someone's attention, not a good thing.
"You ready to go to lunch?" Kagami asked him, coming to a stop next to him.
Kuroko nodded and whispered a, "yeah." He and Kagami went to the cafeteria and sat down at their usual table, getting out their food. Kuroko was taking a bit longer since he was still staring at [name], whose table was just across the room. He dreamed some nights about him and [name] eating lunch together, acting like a loving couple.
Kagami went to take a bite of his food when he saw Kuroko staring like a puppy dog and rolled his eyes. He was so sick of this happening every day. It frustrated him that Kuroko couldn't just make [name] pay attention to him. This had been going on for too long.
"Okay, guess I'll have to handle this myself." He grumbled, earning a confused look from his friend before he stood up, putting his lunch back down and turning around.
"Where are you going?" Kuroko asked but was ignored, purposefully this time. His eyes widened when he saw Kagami approach the table [name] was at.
"Hey, you!" Kagami called, making [name] stop talking to his friends and look at him. "I need to talk to you."
"Uh... who are you?" [name] asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"I'm not the one you need to know about. My friend, Kuroko is in freaking love with you. Has been since you transferred to this damn school so could you do us all a favour and ask him out?" He got straight to the point.
"I don't even know who this Kuroko is either." [name] replied. Kagami huffed and pointed behind him at the table he was previously sitting at. [name] tried to see but the crowed of students were blocking him and he couldn't see who Kagami was pointing at. "Still can't see him."
"You'll just have to come with me then." Kagami grabbed his arm tightly and roughly pulled him up.
"What the hell man! Let go of me!" [name] explained, trying to pull his arm out of the grip. This guy wanted him to ask his friend out yet he was manhandling him an acting like an idiot. If his friend was anything like this, [name] sure as hell wouldn't be asking him out.
He was dragged across the room before Kagami let go of his arm and pushed him forward, He tripped over his own feet, catching himself on the table and stopping himself from landing on his face. His eyes glanced up and he realised his face was inches away from someone else's. A pair of big blue eyes were staring back at him.
"This is Kuroko. Kuroko, you're welcome." Kagami said, sitting back down on his spot. "Now will you ask him out?"
Kuroko blushed brightly and glared at Kagami, feeling himself become embarrassed. "Kagami! You can't just say that."
"Hey! I'm just doing what you can't. You should be thanking me, not snapping at me." Kagami snipped back, sticking his nose up in annoyance.
"S - Sorry about him. Just forget about it." Kuroko said, noticing [name] hadn't moved away from him.
"If I knew you were this attractive, I wouldn't of made a fuss coming over here." [name] replied with a smirk. "And I would love to take you on a date."
"See?" Kagami said smugly. "Be a little more grateful."
"Dude, shut up. You're ruining the moment." The non basketball player said, giving Kagami a look. Yes, he appreciated him introducing them but that didn't mean he needed the added commentary when he was asking the blue haired boy out. He turned back to Kuroko, his smirk back on his lips. "How have I never noticed you before?"
Kuroko laughed lightly, biting his lip. "It's okay. It happens to me all the time."
"Well, I can promise I'll never let that happen again." [name] moved away from his face and sat down next to him, their bodies close. Kuroko felt goose bumps raise on his skin from the closeness and he swore his heart was about to beat out of his chest. He would forever be grateful to Kagami for making this happen. "So, about that date?"
"Yeah?" Kuroko whispered back, feeling his voice crack from nerves.
[name] laughed, loving the effect he was having on the other male. Who would have thought he would have someone in love with him, let alone someone who was exactly his type. He wished he had been more observant earlier. "Well, where would you like to go? My treat. We can go anywhere you would like."
"We can go anywhere you like. I'm not picky." Kuroko replied, shrugging his shoulders. He didn't want to accidently choose a place [name] didn't like and have him back out of the date. He was over thinking this, he knew that. He just didn't want to ruin his chance.
"Okay, how about this? I plan the first date and you can plan the second date." [name] compromised.
"Second date?" Kuroko squeaked out. "Y - You like me enough to want to have a second date with me?"
[name] chuckled, "you are so cute when you're flustered."
Kagami felt proud of himself that he had been the one to set this up and knew he would be able to hold this over both of their heads to get them to do things for him.
The only thing he didn't anticipate was for them to start making out at future lunches and successfully grossing him out.
