Mitch was resting in the 'Dragon Den' as it was dubbed, a cave a couple of miles out from Atlantide, with his brothers. Colin and Bryan were mucking around, while Mario was carving something out of a rock using his magic. Mitch was quite comfortable laying on the floor with his eyes shut when a smell started to appear. Frowning, Mitch opened his eyes and sat up, sniffing the air he placed it coming from Mario, or at least his direction. Mitch stood up and approached Mario. Crouching down next to him, Mitch took a deep breath. Mario looked at him confused. "You smell weird." Mitch said bluntly.

"I do?" Mario asked, confused.

"Mhm." Taking another breath Mitch realized, "Oh you've gone into heat."

"What?!" Mario exclaimed, "Is it that time already? I could have sworn it was in two weeks."

"What's going on?" Bryan asked as he and Colin were pulled from where they were playing by the sound of Mario's shout.

"He's starting heat and because we're in close proximity it's going to set ours off as well." Mitch explained, sighing.

"Oh, but we aren't prepared! We were going to do that next week. Oh no this is terrible." Colin panicked.

"We'll just have to lock ourselves in our own rooms or houses." Mitch said, taking a seat next to Mario.

"Sorry guys." Mario mumbled feeling ashamed that he forgot.

"It's fine. Stress probably sped it up." Mitch reassured Mario, placing a hand on his back and soothingly rubbing it up and down.

"You're right, I have been under a lot of stress lately." Mario cuddled closer to Mitch.

"Sadly we have to cut this hangout short as we only have a few hours, three at the most, before it really hits us." Mitch advised gently pushing Mario away.

"But what about our mates?" Bryan blurted out.

"Oh, have you chosen already?" Mario asked, tilting his head.

"Y-yeah, I, uh, I chose Jakey." Bryan confided, nervously playing with his hands.

"Yeah, we should of realized that." Mario hummed amused, "What about you Colin?"

"No one yet. I do have my eyes on a few people though." Colin replied.

"Who?" Bryan asked, looking earnestly at Colin.

Colin groaned, "Don't look at me like that! Ugh, fine. It's either going to be Lily or Seek."

"Now was that so hard?" Mitch replied amused that Bryan unintentionally used the puppy dog eyes on Colin.

Colin glared at him, "What about Mario and you?"

"David."

"Pat."

Colin blinked at the blunt answers, "Oh."

"Yep, so you're going to have the easiest time out of all of us Colin. You don't have a mate that you want to spend your heat with, whereas we'll be in close proximity with ours. This is gonna suck." Mitch groaned, heading falling forward.

"I'm sure it won't be that bad." Colin reassured them.

"It will." Mario deadpanned, "It's the worst."

"Right, well, we need to leave now and get as prepared as we can on limited time. Remember that you need to tell your guild leaders that you'll be unavailable for about a week." Mitch advised everyone.

"That's going to suck. I'm going to have to explain everything about heats to them. God, it's going to be embarrassing." Mario whined, standing up he walked out of the cave with a "I'll see you guys later."

"Right, let's go Colin." Mitch waved Bryan goodbye as he followed Mario out with Colin following him.
