I took a deep breath as I stumbled out of dad's Lamborghini Gallardo sports car, hearing several gasps from students who surrounded the parking area. I scuffed my sneakers on the perfectly trimmed green grass and pulled my black leather jacket tightly around me as I glared at the dull grey cement walls of the school's building, knowing it was going to be my prison for the day. I slung my backpack over my shoulder angrily and cursed under my breath. Ugh.. he knew how much I hated school and now here I was the 'New Girl' in Bloodwood High.
" Good luck, sweetie!" Called dad in a cheery voice, throwing a water bottle at me. I grabbed the bottle and stuffed it in my bag. He opened his mouth then closed it back again, his face slackened slightly and his brow furrowed. I thought he was going to cry, but he didn't. It was an emotion I couldn't put my finger on. Sad? Scared? I finally got it. Worried. He let out a shaky sigh and ran his fingers through his hair.
" Umm..... Viola. Try your best to fit in" He gave a nervous smile and I rolled my eyes, I hated it when he would call me that. Here it goes again! It was bad enough moving into Dark Vill and now I had to do the thing I sucked at most, ' fitting in' with the other kids.
" Daaaaaaaad, it's Violet!" I groaned, slumping against his car. I quickly slipped my hand onto the door handle and jerked it open but before I knew it, his fingers gripped the handle from inside the car and he slammed the door shut in my face. I heard him chuckle silently under his breath as he shook his head. " Uh-uh young lady, don't even try it!" He grinned widely.
" Yh whatever, dad. Love you"
" Love you too, honey. Break a leg!" and with that, he pulled the gear and sped off, in the blink of an eye. Leaving me, standing and shivering all alone. I could feel the sweat start to form on my palms as I felt the students' eyes bore behind my back in hunger. The bright flowers outlining the walkway seemed to drop dead as I walked by, it was very chilly and I could feel the goosebumps rise up out of my flesh. Whispers filled my ears and they were getting louder and louder, I couldn't concentrate on where I was going. I just wanted it to stop. I let out a high pitch scream as I collided with someone, I felt their icy strong hands sweep down to my waist, saving me from falling to the ground.
" Hey, you okay?" I watched his head lift up as he carelessly swept his fringe over, revealing his smoky grey eyes that were now staring deeply into my own. " You should watch where you're going, you can get hurt" he whispered into my ear, carefully placing my feet firmly on the ground. I wanted to say thank you but somehow the words wouldn't come out of my mouth. His spiky black hair was sticking out in different directions and his smirk made me melt like fire, he had the whole mystery, dark guy look and I loved it.
"Err.... thanks, I'm really sorry. I mean I should have looked where I was going bu-" I stopped there as he leaned in and gasped, pulling my eyelid open to get a better view of my pupil. I jerked back, what the hell was this freak doing? His mouth was slightly open, it looked like he'd seen a ghost. He stood still frozen until the shock began to melt away.
" I have to go, I'm sorry. Forget this ever happened.." He let out a frustrated sigh and vanished, I blinked several times and whirled all around me but he was no longer in sight. What just happened? ...
"Excuse me, can you tell m-" I began, but the guy walking past ignored me and shuffled away. I huffed and burst through the double doors, walking down the hallway towards my classroom. I tried to keep my focus on trying to reach towards the room but felt everyone's eyes on me, I quickly straightened my shirt and loosened my red tie. I always hated attention. The hallway seemed to go on forever, the shiny blue tiles loomed in front of me. I jumped, ready to run as each metal locker cracked open or slammed shut, the noise loud in my ears.
