It was an ordinary day, I woke up, ate breakfast, got a shower, y'know..all that stuff.I had a dog who, for some reason, loved scratching the wall near my window, I think it's weird but oh-well.
But this day seemed...different. It seemed like all my things were moving places, I thought I left my phone on my bed but it was in the kitchen for some reason. I just brushed it off as my brother being the annoying douche he is.
The same day my boyfriend came over, we mostly stayed in my room watching movies and just goofing off in general, it was getting pretty late and I was getting tired, I didn't fall asleep but I told my boyfriend about my stuff 'moving' and that it's probably my brother. He looked at me seriously and said,
"Babe...you live alone..you're entire family lives in an entire different state.."I stared at him in disbelief, how could I forget? My mom always texts me, asking how I am since we can barely see each other. I was disappointed with myself for forgetting but then realized, it wasn't my brother moving my stuff...someone else was doing it. Where they still in my house? Was it really me and I'm just paranoid? My boyfriend seemed tense, I told him it must've actually been me and I just happened to forget. But I knew, deep down, it wasn't me.
We watched another movie, forgetting everything, I fell asleep. I woke up at some point in the night to scratching, I looked at my window, seeing my dog at the window.
'Weird dog'
I said to myself. I heard the scratching again..but it wasn't the dog..it was coming from my mirror placed on the wall infront of my bed. I quickly leaned over to wake my boyfriend up but he wasn't there, I thought he was in the bathroom, since it's near where the scratching is coming from. There was a note on the pillow.
"Since you fell asleep and it was so late, I decided to just leave so you could sleep good.
Love you!"I stared at the mirror in disbelief, no one was in the house with me. Nothing could possibly make that noise..then I saw someone..or..something come in my room.after that everything went black. The next day I decided to drive to my mom's house, we both lived near the border so it was easy to drive there. When I got there my brother was just coming back, they never acknowledged me, but jumped when I was getting something and moved away from that room.
I looked at the papers my mom had spread around the kitchen table,it was for a funeral.
It wasn't just any funeral, it was MINE.
