~Two months Later~
“WHY?!” Natalie sobbed.
“Im so sorry! Natalie! I am so fricken sorry!” Owen yelled back.
“ Who is she?” Natalie screamed, as she saw a beautiful blonde, naked in Owen’s bed.
“H-her name is Katherine.” Owen said softly, as the blonde, Katherine, Get’s out of his bed, wrapped in bed sheets.
“I-I am so sorry.” Katherine mumbled as she picked up her clothes and scurried to the bathroom to get dressed.
“I hate you Owen.” Natalie whispered, and gathered her things.
“Don’t go! Please, Natalie I’m sorry!” Owen was walking behind her as she was stomping down the hallway to the front door.
“You cheated, Owen. You had to get sex from someone. I wouldn’t give it too you, so what? You went to a bar found a drunk blondie, and slept with her?” Natalie didn’t even stop walking. She opened the door and slammed it jogging to the car.
Once Natalie reached the car, she collapsed inside of it, and leaned her head against the steering wheel. She took a deep breath and started sobbing again. Natalie couldn’t take it. This is exactly why she stayed out of relationships. She observed other people and their relationship and it turned to crap. Girls always get hurt. Now Natalie knew how it felt.
Natalie pulled out of the driveway and set her phone on the seat. She turned on the radio and blasted the blues , and drove over the speed limit just wanting to get home. Suddenly, the phone began to ring and she leaned over to grab it. She lost control of the steering wheel and swerved into the other lane, she quickly fixed it and the phone slid off the seat onto the floor. Natalie glanced up at the road and back down reaching for it. Suddenly she flew forward and hit her head on the dashboard. Everything started to get blurry and finally, everything was black.…
‘Sirens?’ Natalie thought. She wasn’t able to open her eyes, but she heard everything around her.
“you have to get her out of the car! NOW!” Natalie heard multiple people yelling orders at each other.
“help!” Natalie wanted to yell. She needed to get out. Natalie felt the blood dripping down her face. She tried to scream but nothing came out.
Natalie felt someone unbuckling her and pulling her out.
“Blood loss, possible coma.” Natalie heard someone diagnosing her.
‘Coma?’ Natalie scolded herself. ‘why did I reach for that darn phone?!’
She was lifted onto a gurney, and put into the ambulance.…
“WHERE IS SHE?!” Owen yelled at the front desk.
“Who, sir? I can’t help you if you don’t tell us who you need.”
“Natalie!”
“Last name please?” The receptionist said.
“Natalie Gray Collins.” Owen said breathless. Owen parked down the block and ran from his car to the reception desk.
“Room 441.”
“Upstairs.” He mumbled, and ran to the elevator. He pressed the up button but he got to impatient. He hit the button and ran up the stairs.
“Hey, son!” A doctor said. Owen whipped around and looked at him.
“M-my girlfriend. She’s in that room! I have to see her!” Owen rushed the words out.
“Sir, she is not awake. She is suffering from Blood loss.” The doctor said to Owen.
“That’s all, right?”
“She is in a coma. If she wakes up.” Owen interrupted.
“When, she wakes up.”
“ No, if. Be realistic. I understand you and her were dating ,and this is a huge loss for you, but she has suffered a lot. Her pulse is slowing down.”
The doctor explained. “Anyways, if she wakes up she might not remember you. She will probably wake up not remembering any events from the past 2 years.”…
Natalie was stood up out of her bed and walked down the stairs. Her head was pounding and she stumbled down the stairs of the hospital.
“hello? Can you help me? I don’t know why I am here.” The doctor continued reading the notepad. “Excuse me?” Natalie said again, a little louder this time. The doctor walked forward and right through her.
“what the-?” Natalie exclaimed. She looked down at herself. “What’s going on?”
“Can anyone see me?!” Natalie yelled. She ran upstairs and runs down the hallway. “HELP ME!!!!” She screams. Slowly she stopped running and everything was blurry. “W-what is happening to me?” Natalie started tearing up.
“ROOM 441! HURRY!” Doctors were running through Natalie rushing to the room.
“Natalie!!!” This black haired boy was running after the doctors. “Is she okay?”
“Honey, you need to stay out in the waiting room. We will try to save her, but I am sorry if I can’t.” The doctor disappeared into the room.
Natalie slowly walk into the room ,and she sees herself laying down In the hospital bed. Natalie continues towards the bed. She looks at herself noticing a huge scar on her forehead. There were already stitches in it, and it was slowing healing. Bruises cover her face along with huge cut on her collarbone.
“what happened? Someone answer me!” Natalie says impatiently.
“She’s not going to make it.” Another doctor says. The doctor has deep blue eyes and light brown hair.
“It’s all up to you, Natalie. You can wake up. All you need to do is try.” A man’s voice whispered into Natalie’s ear.
“HOW?!” Natalie yells. Natalie was standing right beside the man, and was trying to catch his attention. She suddenly started to see blurry and saw her hand fading. “NO!!!! come on! I can do I this!” Natalie squeezed her eyes shut thinking about her heart beat. “Come on, come on.” She thought and suddenly she heard the heart monitor beeping consistently again.
“Way to go, Natalie.” The doctor said.
…
“Can she hear me?” Owen asked the doctor.
“I believe so.” He responded.
Natalie was standing beside Owen, admiring his features. “who is he? Why does he care so much about me?” Natalie asked herself.
“Nattie.” He began. “I love you. I am so sorry. I wish I was smarter. You weren’t ready, and I should have been okay with it, and been patient.” He started to tear up. “I wish we could of talked it out. I also wish you wouldn’t be so darn stubborn and didn’t leave.” He hesitated. Natalie slowly walked over to him. “I shouldn’t of hurt you. I shouldn’t of been such a butt and cheated on you.” Owen started crying. “You never did say you loved me. I might never be able to hear such words come out of your beautiful lips because you’re not going to remember me. You probably are wondering who I am.” He sighs, trying to gain composure. “I am your boyfriend. More like your ex boyfriend. My name is Owen.” He kisses Natalie’s sleeping head. “I love you Nattie. So much.” He stands up, and walks out of my hospital room.…
Natalie was determined to figure out what happened to her. She saw Owen walk out of the hospital, and into his car. He was sitting in the front seat with some blonde girl .
“Told you she is fine.” Katherine stated.
“Katharine! She was in a car crash! She is not FINE. Natalie is in a coma. When-.” Owen hesitates. “If she wakes up, she is going to suffer memory loss. Probably won’t remember 2 years of her life. Which means, she won’t remember me.” He looks over at Katherine with teary eyes.
“Oh. I’m sorry, Owen. It’s better for her though. She will wake up and go merrily on her way. She won’t remember being heartbroken, she won’t remember you.”
“ She’s stubborn. Determined. She is going to want to know what happened to her the past TWO years!” Owen yelled obviously on edge.
“Owen, stop.” Katherine reached her hand over and interlaced their fingers.
“I’m sorry, babe.” Owen mumbled.
“It’s alright. I understand.”
They began driving and Natalie ran after the car. Natalie stopped and leaned over breathing heavily. ‘Maybe if I think about him.’ Natalie thought.
Natalie closed her eyes and thought about him. His black hair, blue eyes. His muscular arms and body. She opens her eyes and appears at a red two story house. There is a wrap-around porch with pretty white fence surrounding the porch. She glances over and see’s Owens car pulling into the driveway. Owen and Katherine step out of the car, obviously in a pretty steamy argument.
“I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME!” Katherine screams stomping up the porch.
“Did I say I do? Ever?” Owen says patiently and pretty calmly.
“I HATE YOU!” Katherine screams, choking on her tears.
“You can’t be mad at me because I love Natalie. I hurt her. Yes, I regret ever having sex with you. It was a mistake, and there is no excuse for my actions.” Owen says walking up the stairs to the front door. He puts the key in the lock and turns it the lock obediently unlocking.
“Yeah, well-.” Katherine couldn’t find a response.
“Just go Katherine.” Owen mumbled under his breath.
“Fine, I will.” She walks down the steps and begins walking down the street.
