Chapter 3: Learning

(Y/n) POV
You prised your eyelids open to see white walls and lots of machinery but you couldn't figure why you were here of where you were. The doctors seemed quite alarmed when they came in to see you looking straight at them. You were still very weak and could tell they hadn't given you the right food because they obviously didn't know.

Later on a different set of people came in to see you, they looked important and had badges. Then they started making weird noises that made no sense so you timidly went to ask them what they were doing.

"τι κάνεις?" (What are you doing?)

They both looked up at you and then looked at each other.

"I thought she was rescued in France?" Dan muttered to Sarah.

"It's called tourism Dan." She dead panned.

You couldn't understand a word and was starting to get scared because nothing made sense.

"παρακαλώ με βοηθήστε im φόβο" (please help me im scared)

You looked at them and held out your hands threateningly but they just looked confused. Where were you? What millenia was it? Why were you not home? Thoughts were rushing through you head as they begun to speak to you again and before you could get confused again you power finally kicked in.

"Shut up and leave me alone I don't want to speak with you." You left them astounded. You had the ability to learn any language if you heard it from a native speaker. But what language was it?

You were drained from using the power and the tug of darkness was being pulled over your face. Falling into a nightmare filled sleep leaving the world behind. Without the right food you would soon perish but while you were so damaged you had no way of providing it for yourself.

You ran trying to follow them across but every time you tried your movements became slower and slower leaving you desperately fighting to join your family your... The memory slipped away and returned again you were visiting some people they were familiar but you had no clue why they were speaking in your native language and made you feel safe but then it took a dramatic turn you were being attacked from every angle and screaming for help with such desperation. Until you were met with a dark and brooding face he laughed in your face and then it all faded away and replaced by the cold seeping into your limbs.

You woke in a cold sweat confused by what you saw but knew it had to be of some importance because dreams always were. This time when you woke you were alone but not for very long, an smartly dressed man entered with a red head and you could sense plenty of their allies talking ouside the room.

"Hey kid how are you feeling?" He asked.

You looked at him confused you were no child but you didn't know what you were either. The new language was being fully understood but was going to play the confused card and just reverted back to your native language.

"Δεν καταλαβαίνω; ποιος είσαι?"

He looked at you completely confused. Then looked over to the woman and elbowed her.

"Tony there was no need for that, she says 'I don't understand, who are you?"

"Oh ok Nat ask her what her name it I need to find her family"

As soon as he mentioned family all the memories from the nightmare came flooding back more than what you had seen in your nightmare. You now knew everything and only knew one thing you needed to get out of here fast. You supressed a sob and tried to look normal like before.

"τι είναι το όνομά σας και πού είναι η οικογένειά σας?" (What's your name and where is your family)

"Δεν καταλαβαίνω" (I don't understand) you answered plainly.

The woman cursed and then went to speak to the man.

"My Greek is too rusty it probably makes no sense she can't understand me I'll try another language but I doubt she'll understand." She concluded getting a nod from the man.

"quel est votre nom?" (What is your name? In french) She asked.

"What's with the French?" The man queried.

"It was were she was found, idiot" she snapped back.

"meum nomen est..." (my name is...) You replied in latin. Her eyes widened understanding that you could not only speak Greek but Latin and even understand French.

"Tony she's speaking in latin as if she is fluent!" He looked at her shocked which made you confused was latin not a new language anymore? You coughed lightly and prepared to let the cat out of the bag. Using your powers to develop the full language.

"My name is (y/n)" you said stiffly looking at the pair who were gobsmacked. They had not expected someone to speak in perfect English on top of what they had just heard. Playing the tired card you pretended to be exhausted by the events that had played out. They saw this and immediately excused themselves from the room to go converse with their friends outside.

You laid back on your pillows observing the room seeing a large window you hadn't seen before. That was your ticket to freedom you had to get out these large casts covering you. Moving your leg inside the cast you could feel no further damage so your leg was fine it would be weak but that would be fine. The people left through the double doors and you heard them disappear down the corridor. First you find information then you would escape. 2 days then you would be free surely you could wait that long?
