Chapter 6

"Hey! Jirou, are you ok?" Kaminari called to her, knocking loudly on the door. There were a few grumbles and shuffles before the door swung open to reveal Jirou sushirolled up in her blanket.

"What do you want, Kaminari?" Jirou grumbled to him, looking very tired.

"I'm here to look after you! what do you need?" He replied happily. Jirou tried to shut the door on him, but Kaminari stuck his foot between the door.

Jirou gave up and collapsed on her bed. He followed her into the room and sat on the edge of her bed.

Jirou groaned and shoved her head under the pillow. "Here! I'll get you some medicine. I saw some up in that cupboard!" Kaminari said, getting up, but in the process, he knocked a box over.

"Oh! Sorry, I'll just" he knocked another box over. "Never mind, you can sit down Kaminari," Jirou said tiredly, getting up and fixing the boxes.

She walked over to the small box of medicine she had, she stood on her toes and reached for it. The box fell off the cupboard, startling Jirou. She started to fall backwards.

"Hey! Watch out" Kaminari exclaimed, reaching out to catch her. He slid to the floor on his knees, holding her tightly.

"Are you alright?" He asked her, their faces were close. "E-eh! Yes. Thanks. Now stay away, you don't want to catch this bug" Jirou thanked him briefly before going back to her bed with the medicine.

"Sooo. Do you want to? I don't know, watch Netflix or something?" He asked her, rocking back and forth on his heels. Jirou's face was red, party due to sickness and partly due to what had just happened.

She nodded her head and pulled out her laptop. They sat on the bed together for a while and just watched some random anime's.

"Hey, Jirou. This is a random question. But do you have a crush?" Kaminari asked her just as the credits were rolling for a show

Jirou went bright red and stared at the floor.

"Because there are all these couples in our class, and I want to know if you've got our eyes on anybody. It would be nice to be the cupid for once instead of Mina." he continued to speak while grinning.

"Why does he have to be so gosh-darn cute" Jirou though, covering her face.

He was bluffing. Kaminari wanted to know if she liked anyone, so he could make a move on her. But if she did like someone, he promised himself to leave her alone. Kaminari would never force her to do anything.

He has always liked Jirou from the start. Ever since the day, he saw her playing in the park.

Flashback:

It was a warm spring day. The cherry blossom trees were in full bloom and bees were busily buzzing around the flowers.
Kaminari (aged 13) was going for a walk there.

He heard a noise coming from behind a large cherry tree. Slowly, Kaminari walked up the hill to the source of the noise.

A girl was under the tree, playing the guitar.

"Wow! You're so good at the guitar!" He exclaimed, startling the girl.

"O-oh? Thanks!" She smiled back at him, cradling her guitar.

Kaminari beamed at her and sat down next to her. "So why are you playing outside?" He asked her, while she stared off into the distance.

She took a few seconds to reply.
"I like this park. It inspires me to play, I watch the bees and the flower petals slowly fall to the ground. It's calming"

Kaminari nodded and looked at her. A cherry blossom landed perfectly in her hair. Her eyes were the colour of violets and they looked back at him.

"So what's your name?" She asked him, smiling a bit.
"Oh, I'm Denki Kaminari!"

She held out her hand to him. "Well nice to meet you! I'm Kyoka Jirou" She beamed at him.
The cherry blossom in her hair fluttered, before floating off her hair and drifting off with the wind. Going high and higher.

"Kyoka..."

"What a beautiful name"
