Chapter 8:The Girl Who Cried "Daughter"

I frowned at the half opened gates, I remembered closing them before I had left. I looked beside me at Xavier who seemed to be in thoughts himself, he looked down at the small brown glass bottle which seemed smashed with its other parts beside it.

"Chloroform." He spoke, my eyes instantly widened and I ran pass the steel gates and towards the mansion doors. All I could do was pray and hope that my daughter was okay, and nothing happened to her.

"Lia, Xylia? Answer me damn it?" I yelled running up the stairs to her bedroom, the fear just seemed to grow the closer I got to her room.
I looked around the empty room, it did not look like any type of struggle had happened. I had feared this, it was one of the reasons to why I did not want to leave Xylia but she convinced me and I had left. Why did I leave?

I grabbed the nearest vase which was filled with flowers and threw it to the nearest wall before falling to my knees, I was a terrible mother. Unable to look after my own children.

Xavier ran inside, he looked at me and then at the wet floor and the shattered pieces of glass before he approached me, he dropped to his knees as I gripped his collar and pulled him closer to him.
"He took her, just like he took Xavion. He took my son! And now my daughter!" I cried, my voice raising the more I panicked. I needed my daughter, I wanted her close beside me.

"What is this?" I pulled away at the voice of a my father in law Dad Chris, he held a small black device which was wet in his hands. Xavier stood up approaching his father whilst, Mom Sapphire rushed towards me and hugged me to her chest whilst I sobbed.

"Shit, he had bugged this room. He placed a small sound monitor in this vase, it was the only way he knew Xirena had left her alone." Xavier spoke, I stood up approaching them i took the device from their hand and looked at it, my mind instantly went to a week ago when I saw the maid with a similar device like this.

"Did you see anyone with this?" Dad Chris asked, I was frozen unable to come to conclusion that someone that we had employed for so long had done this to us.
"Answer is Xirena?" Xavier questioned he placed both his hands on my shoulders and shook me, making me snap out of my own world and look at him.

"Maid Alma." I whispered, I was shocked myself. I would never had suspected her, she had worked for us since Xavier and I were small she had seen Xylia grow up as well. But I had seen her with this device with my own eyes.
"A week ago, I was walking I had accidentally barged into Maid Alma which led to her dropping this device she looked startled and frozen, I assumed it was from the sudden crash between us I remember her grabbing the device and apologising before walking away." As I completed I watched Xavier pull his hands away from my shoulder and fist his palm into a ball.

"Inform the guards to get Hold Maid Alma and interrogate her until we arrive." He spoke to dad Chris who instantly pulled his phone out and began to dial the number and walk away as he spoke.
"Shit!" Dad Chris yelled into as he walked back into the room, everyone seemed to have turned the attention back to dad Chris.

"What's wrong?" I asked, dad Chris rubbed his face in frustration.
"Maid Alma left ten minutes ago, she had requested a leave and it was granted." I looked at the clock,
"Tell the guards to split up, block the train stations, all the airports, close motorways and all other transport solution. She must not have gotten that far." I spoke, Xavier and Dad Chris instantly got to work, while I rubbed my tears and looked at the frame of my daughter which was hung on the wall.

'I will find you!'

"Son, we should head out as well." Dad Chris said, which in return Xavier nodded his head.
"I want to come as well." I spoke which froze Xavier on his way out,  he turned his attention towards me.

"It's better if you stay here." He spoke, I shook my head I was stubborn and hell bent on having my way, I could not stand in one place waiting for a call or message to let me know my daughter was safe I wanted to help and find her.
"No, what's better is if I come. I am a mother Xavier, I have lost one child and I was unable to do anything then, let me do something this time." I spoke, I knew I hit a deep spot because he nodded his head and extended his hands. I grabbed ahold of his hand as we walked out, dad Chris and Xavier decided to take separate cars, we were heading to the motorway where as dad Chris was heading his way towards the airport.

"Can you stop tapping your foot I need to think?" Xavier angrily questioned, I knew he was worried but his anger triggered something inside of me. We rarely fought and always ended up with making love, but this felt different like everything that was happening was life changing.

"Well I am so sorry Mr Knight that my nervousness angers you, probably I should have went with your dad or even better taken my own damn car."I yelled back, I was not going to break down after all these year that is one thing that I clocked and it was to never show that your weak or you will become a target.

I heard him sigh. "Look, ReRe. Your a mother but I am a father as well, I fucking love my children but one I never even had the chance to raise whilst the other was taken from me before I could even walk her down the aisle." I frowned at his words, it pinched me to realise that I had made it all about my feelings. I forgot that he was a father as well, he had feelings as well but he was the stronger and tougher man who preferred to hide his emotions then express it.

"I'm sorry." I whispered, for a brief second he looked at me with his eyes filled with tears, he gripped my palms and brought it to my lips.
"We will find Xylia, I promise."
