Sanemi groaned at his arrival at the butterfly estate, the fact that he knew Shinbou would never let him off the hook for taking a injured child to her for medical attention would be all too great a teasing material for her, wether it was the right thing or not, it was out of character for him if compared to his usual aggressiveness towards other people.

At this point there wasn't much turning back, standing outside the estate the first thing that struck him was how different it appeared compared to the last time he had been there, though, that was many years ago at this point. Nonetheless, with some reluctance, Sanemi threw the door open, making a slight effort to not wake the child he had balanced in his arms.

"Wha! Hashira?!" A shocked yelp came from a young black haired girl, her blue eyes widened in shock at Sanemi's abrupt and loud appearance.

Sanemi glared at the girl, not wanting to waste time. "Where's Kocho?" The white haired male growled, practically looming over the girl. The girl quickly recovered herself and shook her head before responding.

"L-lady Kocho is in her study." The girl swiftly explained, trying to ignore how intimidated she felt having Sanemi practically loom over her. "However she's asked no one interrupt her as she's busy-" before the blue eyed girl could finish Sanemi had already stomped off, needing no more information other then location, the girl shouted some calls for the male to stop but it fell on deaf ears as Sanemi quickly turned corners.

Having someone barge into her study was certainly not what Shinobu was wanting at the moment, especially not if it was one of her fellow pillars, and not to mention one of the least cooperative ones at that. But alas, the girl had no control over such things despite her attempts.

"Kocho." Sanemi Shinazugawa grunted, Shinobu sighed heavily, she didn't turn away from her medicinal work to face him, she truthfully didn't want to deal with Sanemi at the current moment. Shinobu had been working on a new poison for the past week, which had lead to her working rather late into the night, she had finally been granted some time off from her corps work and had decided to use her rare time off to focus on finalizing the poison.

"Yes, Shinazugawa?" Shinobu hoped the man didn't hear the irritation hidden in her voice, and sent a glance over her shoulder to check, only for her eyes to be greeted with the sight of the wind pillar, and perhaps one of the most crude and annoying people she had met holding a small, sleeping, injured child in his arms, she wasn't sure if it was the child or how gently he was holding her that shocked her the most.

"Why do you have-?"

"She followed me when I was coming back, pretty sure her family was eaten by a demon or something." Sanemi grunted, clearly disliking the situation. Shinobu would've had to hold back a laugh at Sanemi's behaviour if the situation was different.

"So you decided to help? How sweet of you!" She clasped her hands together, trying to not appear mocking despite her words. "do you have a soft spot for children, Hmm?" She knew this much would get to him, judging from his expression of mostly annoyance, yes, but slight embarrassment. Sanemi's face went red despite himself.

"Shut up!" Sanemi had shouted, his volume much louder then intended. He immediately realized his own mistake after he felt a jump in his arms and movement. He glanced down to see the child he had picked up looking up at him, eyes wide with surprise, and Sanemi swore he saw a touch of fear swarming in them too. "sorry." He spoke lowly, making sure his words were able to be heard by the child but not Shinobu.
