Joel was standing in front of the window in the center of the bedroom. Ever since the infection started to spread, there was no longer safe to sleep without no one patrolling.

Power's been out since forever, the light coming trough the lonely window has been the only source to light in this dark, moldy apocalyptic world. Joel and Ellie has been staying here for quite awhile now, under the same roof Sara once lived. But that's a reality from another time, another universe even. Joel repeat himself everyday. "Stay behind me, don't shoot unless absolutely necessary and always remember what you're fighting for".

Ellie finally got some rest after countless sleepless nights. The trauma from the hospital was still haunting her and wouldn't let her move on.

Joel looked outside and the expression on his face got more and more tense.

"Ellie, we need to go"
Ellie yawned slightly and peeked
"What is goin-"
"NOW!" Joel shouted without hesitation.

Gunshots. Another familiar sound. Joel packed his backpack as fast as he could. Ellie needed to hurry. He threw over Ellie's switcher-blade and she caught it without scratching her hand. This was not a pointless overreaction, a storm was coming.

The gunshots came closer...
