Many things had happened during my 3 years of being in coma.
Erwin and the other leaders had each updated me of the things I missed even though I watched them in my 'dreams'. It took them about 2 hours and we're only halfway through their explanations. Eventually, I stopped them from going any further and told what I saw during my coma state.
I even told them about the girl who had been torturing me but I excluded the scenes from the future. I don't think they're ready to hear about it.
"So," Hanji started after I stopped talking. "this girl that has been torturing you over these past 3 years is similar to you and says that she's come to claim back her soul?"
"I guess.." I sighed and leaned back onto the chair I was sitting on. "But if she's the original body of Plue, then what am I?"
"Well according to her, she said that you're just an empty vessel." Farlan said. Isabel nudged him on the rib, thinking that it might've been an insult to me.
"It's fine, Isabel." I told her. "Anyway, that may be true but.." I trailed off, my eyebrows furrowed at the thoughts which swarmed my head giving me a slight headache.
"But what?" Petra asked.
"What really got me thinking is, why did she come back?" I looked up at all the faces that were staring back at me. And judging from their expressions, I think they might've been thinking the same thoughts as me.
"You're right." Erwin sighed and stood up, both the palm of his hands placed on top of his table. "But aside from the things you've been through, you also need to catch on what's happening right now."
Hanji protested. "But Erwin, she just woke up three days ago! I doubt she'll be fast eonugh to catch up on our level."
"She said she'd seen the things of what had happened here when she's in coma. Right, Plue?" Erwin asked me with a stern look on his face. I don't know why he's acting like this. Maybe he's just stressed of what's happened after my awakening since there were alot of paperwork coming from the Military Police and the higher ups regarding about me. And he has to them all by his own.
"It's fine, really." I ignored Erwin's question but I think that might've been already an answer. "I'll just do my best in every way possible. I'll catch up sooner or later eventually. I'm a Corporal after all." I smiled at all of them.
Mike got off from his chair and stretched,a few bones could be heard cracking here to there. Nothing serious though. "I guess that's settled." He relaxed and grabbed some papers from Erwin's desk. "Erwin, I think you should take a break for now. I can handle things from here for you."
Erwin looked at him for a moment as if in doubt. But he sighed and slowly walked towards the door. "Thanks, Mike." Were the only words he said before heading out.
"He's really been in so much stress lately, huh?" Isabel chuckled sadly.
"Yeah, I don't those paperworks were necessary though." Farlan agreed with her.
"So," Mike started while flipping through some papers from his hands. "In a few months, new trainees from the 104th Training Squad will be graduating soon.
"Looking from their individual interviews, most of them will be joining the Garrison and those who are overly confident say they'll be able to join the Military Police." He flipped again while grabbing a few from Erwin's desk. "The rest who have the guts will join us."
"How many are there, Mike?" Petra asked him.
"Aproximately 26 but I doubt all of them will." He placed the papers down and crossed his muscled arms. "Nevertheless, a few of us will be inspecting their final trainings alongside their Commander, Keith Shadis."
"Tsk, that baldy.." I heard Levi mutter under his breath. Clearly, he wasn't happy seeing him again.
"That'll be all for today." Mike finally said after explaining a few more things expected for the people who'll be going to the training grounds. Probably from Erwin's notes since he'd been reading them paper after paper.
After heading out of Erwin's office, Hanji and Petra dragged me away to explore more of the upgrades that they'd been talking to me about. It was mostly on Hanji's captured titan experiments and equipments that were newly made.
But what had really been changed all throughout the soldiers of the Scouting Legion was their melancholy due to Plue's disappearance.
Because without her, humanity will not gain their revolution even when there's freedom.
