Lauren's POV

The day went by pretty fast. I just hope that detention will go by just as quick. I swear I'm going to go insane being stuck inside a room for two hours with Ms. Dorris.

I walked into her room after the final bell of the day rang and took a seat way in the back as far away from Ms. Dorris's desk as possible.

"I'm just waiting for the last student to arrive, then I have to go print some papers." Ms. Dorris stated. "Ah, there she is."

I looked up and immediately recognized who it was. Her. Why is she here. It's only her second day and she already got detention? She immediately saw me too and our eyes connected. Once again she broke our eye contact and walked to sit in the very front row. Why'd she sit so far away from me?

"Alright students, I'm going to go do a couple things and I'll be right back. Don't even try anything, I trust you guys are old enough to behave yourselves." Ms. Dorris snapped and left the room.

I got up from my seat and sat down next to the girl. I was confident at first but once I sat down and she looked at me, I lost it. I just stared at her.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I just noticed you yesterday, are you new?" I asked.

"Yeah," she replied. "I'm Camila, I'm a junior."

"Me too! I'm Lauren." I told her. "I don't mean to pry or anything but, you just moved here and you're already in detention. Why?"

"Well, I was at the cafeteria for lunch. I didn't know where to sit so I just sat at the first empty table I saw. Apparently that table was already reserved and the girls got really mad at me. She threw her spaghetti at me and a whole food fight got started. And I got blamed for starting it." She explained.

"Wow, that sucks ass." I laughed.

"Yeah, ha." She laughed too. " so we have science and choir together huh?"

What? You're in choir?" I asked.

"Yeah. You probably just didn't see me with all the other people in the stands." She explained.

"Yeah, I guess. So are you going to audition for the choir contest?" I asked.

"What choir contest?"

"Every year our choir goes to a choir contest like 3 hours away from here. We go and stay in a really fancy hotel for the night, then go perform the next day and you don't have to pay for a thing. It's really fun but you have to audition and only the best singers get in. I've gone every year for the past 3 years." I bragged.

"So I take it you're pretty good at singing?" She wondered.

"Yeah, I guess. You any good?"

"I don't know. I've never really sang by myself just in a choir. I guess I'm just really shy."

She looked down at her feet. God she's so fucking cute! Wait, what? No she's not. She's a girl. What am I saying?

"Yeah, I noticed you are." I remarked.

She looked up at me at me and smiled. This is the first time I've seen her smile and I don't want it to be the last. She is so beautiful. Oh my god. Shut up! You don't know what you're thinking.

We continued our staring match and I could feel the tension between us until it was broke when Ms. Dorris came back in the room and I hurried back to my seat. Camila turned around and smiled at me, then turned around again.

The rest of detention I just stared at the back of her head. Hoping for her to turn around but obviously she wasn't going to. What is going on with me. Why does she make my heart flutter? Am I gay? What no that's ridiculous! I love guys. Well actually I love fucking guys, but I still love guys. I can't be into girls. Can I?
