My Prized Possession

The night was young, the kingdom of Nottingham was a peaceful and well lighted. The stars glowed brightly across the dark and cool night, upon the kingdom there was a balcony where a young beautiful princess stared across the kingdom seeing her people dance in the well lit streets, laughing can be heard down below where the people were.Princess (Name) smiled wishing that she can join her people in celebrating especially hearing the people laugh makes her even more happy. Unfortunately as a princess, (Name) couldn't join the celebration down there for it was not safe for her because of her status. There can be possible outcomes that can harm her.

While (Name) was being distracted by the people below. Her maid approached her room, the maid knew that (Name) loves to join her people but her business is also to stay in the castle to prevent her from being harmed and to do her royal duties as a princess soon the maid approached the princess, she then proceeded to tell (Name) that it was time to rest.

"Princess (Name), it is time for you to rest"

(Name) noticed that her maid called her, averting her attention from below she then turned around to face her maid with a smile that can brighten a room.

"Ah Freida, I didn't realize that it was time for me to rest"

The princess replied then followed a giggle, Freida, the maid smiled at (Name) realizing on how beautiful the princess grown from when she was a little lass and until now. Freida took care of her when her parents were busy fulfilling their duties. She may be old but seeing (Name) grew up to be a beautiful and kind hearted person made her happy and made her feel young again.

"Yes Princess, probably you didn't realize since you were watching the town below"

Freida replies as she smiled even more showing the wrinkles on the side of her eyes. She held (Name)'s hand and softly pulled her to the chair which had a mirror in front of the chair and bed that was across the bedroom. (Name) sat down on the chair while Freida grabbed the soft brush and started combing (Name)'s (h/c) hair.

They started to talk and laughed about their dreams and what will happen to them in the future. Until screaming was heard from the city then soon followed by explosions.

Fear grew on Freida's face, the Princess looked outside the balcony then turned around to see Freida's face.

"What's happening Freida?"

Freida was about to reply until one of the guards rushed into the room.

"Freida, hide the princess!"

"What's going on Thomas?"

Thomas started sweating terribly from running, he looked outside (Name)'s room and back at Freida.

"We are being under attacked!"

Freida gently grabbed (Name)'s hand and dragged her to the closet next to the bed, she gently pushed (Name) into the closet and was about to close it until (Name) grabbed her hand.

"Freida, will you be okay?"

Freida placed her hand on (Name)'s soft cheek and gave her a soft smile. She has a feeling that she might either be okay or not make it but realizing that (Name) will be safe calmed her down.

"Of course my dear, now stay quiet while I'll handle this and no matter what happens don't leave this closet until it's safe"

(Name) softly let go of Freida's hand and allowed Freida to close the closet doors. Sooner on what it felt like a few minutes, (Name) heard crying and screaming from her room. She peeped into the small gap of the wooden door just to see Freida on her knees having her hair pulled by a knight that she didn't know. In front of her was a man with dark green hair and dark green outfit while having a sword attached to his side. (Name) started feeling tears falling out of her (e/c) eyes, it broke her heart to see Freida in pain while Freida was crying. The green haired man slapped Freida's face.

"Shut your mouth, or we'll cut your tongue out."

Freida stopped crying making the man smirked knowing that she is following his commands.

"Good, now tell me where's the princess?"

"I don't know!? I swear I don't know"

The green haired man shakes his head while grabbing a small knife from his pocket and pointing it towards her throat.

"I don't like being lied to, now tell me where she is?"

Freida started to cry even harder.

"I don't know!!"

"Wrong answer"

Without realizing Freida felt blood dripping from her neck, making her fall to the ground. (Name) started to cry witnessing her own maid who treated her like her own child was murdered in front of her. The man started to clean the blood that was stained onto his knife but then asked the soldier.

"Do you hear that? It sounds like someone is crying?"

"Yes sir but where"

The man then turned towards the closet that (Name) was hiding in then soon to approach the closet. (Name) covered her mouth trying to hide the sobs so that she wouldn't get caught but soon the door was opened to see the man staring at her.

"Hello Princess"
