Marve continued to ride me for the rest of the week. Then I was trained to pull a carriage and then me and Dutches would pull the carriage together. Marve had yelled from behind sentences like,” Good job Blacky! that was brilliant Blacky! Dutches I’m so proud of you and you’re grown up son! It’ll be time soon Dutches! Great job you two!” One night Marve said,” Blacky its time. Time for you to get a new owner. The next day a man will come to see you and if he wants you he’ll buy you. But this man will treat you fairly like I do.” I placed my neck on Marve’s shoulder and squeezed him as if to hug him. When he left I hugged Dutches. “I’ll miss you mom.” I felt weak and sad inside. Dutches said,”I’ll miss you too. But I’m sure you’ll like your new life… New friends, new people who love you, new attention…” I cut her off saying,” But I don’t want to leave you!” Dutches sighed and replied,” I know hunny… I’m kind of sad to let you go, but I’m sure we’ll see each other again. Even if we don’t I have a wonderful owner to keep me company and you are a very nice horse and I’m sure you’ll have loads of friends. Trust me.” I sighed and said in reply,” I hope your right… At least on the part that we’ll meat again and still have a good life apart.” Dutches gave a weak smile. That night we stayed up a long time together. I kept rubbing my nose lovingly with her hating the idea of moving away forever. The next morning me and Dutches were fast asleep from staying up all night together. I felt something rub my neck. I stirred a little and settled again. I was rubbed again. Tiredly I lifted my head and saw Marve smiling at me. He said,” Blacky, meat Tim the owner of WhiteBrook Farm.” I saw a mid age man standing in front of me looking at my form of body and smiled at me. I looked shyly at him. Dashes woke up and whinnied in welcome. “This here is Blacky’s mother Dutches. Said Marve pleasingly. Tom stroked my neck. His hands were caring and gentle bringing warmth in me. Shyly I stepped back. Marve said,” Blacky’s quite shy to tell the truth. Ever since he was a foal he would step back from strangers.” Smiling Tim said,” He is a well formed young horse. I’ll take him. How much?” Marve and Tim discussed a fair price while I turn to Dutches and said sadly,” This is it…” Dutches said,” Hunny, I promises, you’ll like your new home. Don’t let your feelings get in the way between us. I’ll love you forever.” She gave me a horse like kiss. I kissed her back and the two of us gave a last time love. Marve set his hand on me and gave me a small hug and said,” Blacky, training you was wonderful. I loved being around you. Thanks for being a good horse.” I nuzzled Marve and gave Dutches a one last loving touch. Then an unfamiliar bridle was put on me and an unfamiliar lead. I felt hurt and sickish inside. I felt as if life would never be good again. I was lead into an unfamiliar truck. I looked back at my home and Marve waving at me with Dutches smiling proudly at me. I kept my eye on my loving home and creatures. The door to the truck shut and I could not see my familiar home anymore.

The truck doors were opened. I saw a dirty dirt rode driveway. Out farther at the driveway was a huge stable. There were lots of horse stalls. More then ten or maybe even fifteen. Remembering Dutches’s advise I shyly aloud Tim to retake my lead and lead me out. I heard a weird chant near were I was being lead. My insides jolted and I became ridiculously frightened. “Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Ashleigh Happy birthday to you! Are you one! Are you two?” They kept chanting that until they got to 16 then they said, “She’s 16! Yah!” By then I was lead into the opening. Lots of people. Too much people. I backed up scarily. A girl with dark brown hair and blue eyes gasped. I think she was Ashleigh. She gave a half scream half yelp when she saw me. “ Mine!? My very own horse! Oh my!” I was shaking from fright. It seemed Tim felt my shaking because he said,” Why don’t all of you and you Ashleigh go inside for cake. This horse here is quite frightened and I’m going to let him settle down. Tim patted me comforting. I was lead into a two horse stall. Tim shut the door and left. I was about to lay down when I heard an angry snort. Turned around and my eyes widened. Next to me was the most beautiful female horse I’ve ever seen. She was a beautiful copper horse. She had a copper mane and a strip on her head and a pink muzzle. She had a sock on her front left foot. I whinnied shyly at her. She gave another loud nay and reared. I backed up in fright bumping the wall. The horse reared again and kicked me on my neck. I felt the affect of the pain act up. I had a big bleeding cut. I felt as if I were torched . I herd the terrifying nay again as she tried to kick me again. I barley dodged a kick that could of hit me on the face. All of a sudden I heard a gentle voice say,” Sonya! Down!” I felt my lead tugged and I was lead out of the stall of the storming horse. She saw my cut. She put a small bandage on my cut. She patted my neck. “You are a shy fellow.” Said Ashleigh as I backed up a little. I was put in another stall. Ashleigh feed me some food and water and left. After I was done eating I was exhausted from all that happened today. Leaving Dutches after staying up all night, Sonya attacking me, me being very anxious and scared… I bowed my head and closed my eyes and deeply I fell asleep. I woke up to Ashleigh as she came over with some tack. “Its time to see what you are made of!” Said Ashleigh. She firmly squeezed me near the belly and clucked her tongue and urged me to run. I leaped into a fast sprint. Ashleigh gasped at my speed and made a frantic attempt to hold on tighter to my reins and my mane. I ran faster then ever. My legs constantly hit the ground heavily by the force and I was lifted off the ground and hitting it again. I snorted as I sprinted faster. Ashleigh seamed to be grinning above me. As I continued to glance every once in awhile she would open her mouth and speak something I would not understand because her words would just drown in the wind. I brought my consideration back on my sprinting. The wind hit my face harder then it ever did before as I grew in a faster pace. Ashleigh’s eyes were almost closed from the wind’s effort against us. Ashleigh had tried saying another word that also drowned in the wind. She pulled my reins back and I slowly slowed down. As I grew slower I finely could hear Ashleigh say, “ Wow! That was amazing! I’ve never road on a thoroughbred before but I never knew they can go this fast!” I slowed down to a halt my nostrils flaring for breath. Ashleigh seamed to breathing as hard as I was. I looked behind me and saw the farm out of sight. Ashleigh petted my sweaty body. Flies were attracting to me causing me to shake my neck to get them away. Ashleigh noticed this and said,” lets go home and give you a cool bath so no flies will be after you.” She reined me reins in the opposite direction. I turned around and I walked back toward the barn.
