A long time ago the Hinkök family lived in England. They were being fallowed by a guy named Frank Miller for 5 months because they had information he wanted. Manfred Hinkök was a respected Nazi soldier in Germany that worked in the concentration camp of Aucshwitz as a soldier and guard. He was one of the guards that took the Jews and Gypsies to the gas chambers. New all the ins and outs of how they worked. Manfred and his wife Edith had two kids, Günther and Gisela. After Manfred was released from the German federal prison, he ended up being shot and killed by Frank for refusing to give him the information he was seeking.
A few weeks later, they decided they were tired of being fallowed, so they headed to board the 10:30am ship to America. When they got to the dock they read the name of the ship "Freedom Star". The guy fallowed them on as first class as they were third class.
They went down seven flights of stairs to reach the bottom of the ship. Also known as steerage. When they got into their room there was a triple bunk bed and Mrs. Himkök said "Günther top, Gisela middle and I'll take the bottom."
Then their follower in all black came in and said, "You have some valuable information. If you don't tell me then I will kill you!"
So Mrs. Hinkök protected her kids and replied, " I don't have an valuable information."
"I told you to tell me!" The guy demanded.
"I don't have an valuable information." Mrs. Hinkök repeats with fright.
So in an instant he pulls the trigger and Mrs. Hinkök drops to the floor. Deader than a door nail. The guy drags her dead body up the stairs and throws her overboard. Then Gisela ran over to her bunk and starts crying, while her brother Günther goes upstairs to get some food, just trying to forget what happened. Then just after Günther goes upstairs a girl named Erika goes over to Giselaamd says, "My parents are dead too."
"We are Jewish. died during the Holocaust in Auschwitz. My mother and father were put into the concentration camp and I went into hiding with my grandparents." She continued.
"So you are from Germany?" Gisela asked.
"My father was a soldier under the Nazis in Auschwitz." She continued.
"Yeah I was born there and moved to England after the war ended." Erika told Gisela.
Then all of a sudden Günther has come back downstairs with a bag of food he stole from the kitchen. If he got caught they probably would charge him very heavily. He was willing to share the food with his sister and Erika. After they all ate the food he took Gisela and Erika upstairs and exclaimed, "look, they have all the fun and it isn't fair. Wish we were so poor."
"Why are you up here? You belong in steerage with the rest of your kind!" A random voice yelled at them when they were spotted peeking from the door at the top of the stairwell.
When they heard the voice, Günther grabbed Gisela and Erika and high tailed it back down the stairs.
"Günther you are an idiot and could have gotten us in big trouble! Who knows, maybe they would have thrown us off the boat or something!" Said in anguish over their mother's death.
"Sorry, I just want to have a little fun is all. Didn't think it would harm anyone." Günther apologized to the girls.
So Günther decided he was going to have the fun he wanted. That night while his sister and Erika slept, he went back up the stairs. He walked around first class until one of the people who worked on the ship saw him and asked him why he was up on the top deck and took him back down to steerage. When they threw him into the room he made a heavy thud on the floor. Immediately waking Gisela.
"What did you do this time?" She yelled at Günther, assuming he had done something he wasn't supposed to. Even more annoyed because he woke her.
"Nothing, I just went back up stairs and was walking around when one of the people who work on the ship spotted me and brought me back down. That's all geez." He had replied. "There was a door straight across from the top of the steps I never noticed before. I'll wait and look in it tomorrow thought." He continued.
Oh no you won't Günther!" Gisela yelled. Waking Erika in the process.
"What's going on?" Erika asked. Confused as to what was going on in the middle of the night.
"Günther got caught up on the main deck and plans to get us in even more trouble by going back up tomorrow and opening doors that are non of our business to begin with." Gisela replied.
"Seriously Günther? You better not!" Erika shouted in worry and frustration.
