When I was younger thought that I would hate my life so much. Todays the first day back from spring break and I’m already over school. “Lis, can you please get out of bed.” I groan but I’m not in the mood for complaining. After getting ready, I leave for school, when I arrive no one seems to notice me, it’s like I’m invisible, I guess that that’s a good thing though.

As I walk in I feel eyes staring at me, whispers start to occur and laughs are spilt. It’s clear that they are judging me, either that or there’s something on me. I walk over to one of the empty seats which is away from everyone when my best friend Max walks in, he runs over and picks me up, although he lives next door I haven’t really seen him much since school ended. Lindsay and her group of friends walk into the classroom, “uh, why does she have to be in this class?” I say as I make a sighing sound.
“She’s like a magnet I swear, she is in pretty much all of my classes” Max says with a forced smile, I laugh then Lindsay looks over at me. She whispers something then they all turn to look at me, then they all start to laugh. “So true, she is obviously a lesbian, I mean she only has guy friends.” She says loud enough for everyone in the room to hear, obviously on purpose. Lindsay has hated me since the moment we met and I have no idea why.
“Leave her alone, you barely even know her.” I look up to see whose talking, it is Quinton Graff, the boy I have been obsessed with since he first moved here a year ago. He smiles at me and sits down, then kisses Lindsay, who just so happens to be his girlfriend. His smile is absolutely beautiful, it hurt to look at him.

“Quite please,” Before I knew it the lesson was over. I walk to my next class, this lesson seems to drag on forever and I still can’t get him out of my head. Q and I used to be friends when he first came to Linton High, but it was too good to be true because within a month he was in the ‘popular’ group.

When it was time for lunch, Max, my other best friend Dominic and I find our usual spot and sit down to eat. “I saw you staring at Q earlier, why don’t you just talk to him?” Dom asks.
“First of all, shut it, and second of all because, he is Lindsay’s boyfriend and she hates me.”
“Who cares?” Max adds.
“Uh, me for starters, I can’t he will just find me annoying, you two are the only people who can stand to be around me.”
“I told you she is crazy, I mean she acts as if we are no ones,” they start having a conversation about me like I’m not actually there.
“Guys, quit it,” I say in annoyed tone.
“We are only joking, we love ya.” Max says as he pulls me into a hug but I push him away.

I look over my shoulder too see Q watching me, when we make eye contact he starts to walk over. I start going over reasons he would be coming over to me but there is none, “Hey, its Lissa right?”
“Yeah, what’s up?” I ask.
“I just wanted to apologies for what Lindsay said earlier, I don’t think she realizes how jealous she sounds of you all the time, I mean she is always talking about you and how much she doesn’t like you but come on, you don’t talk about someone that much unless you envy them.” He says then smiles.
“I can’t tell if that was an insult or a compliment,” I say looking maybe a bit too hurt.
“Well, I meant it as a compliment” he says with a laugh. I blush and tell him that I have to go then the conversation ends.

When I walk into school the next day I walk passed Lindsay and her group and they all death stare me, nothing out of the ordinary but Lindsay is walking towards me. Once Lindsay gets to me she raises her hand and slaps me in the face, without noticing I clench my fists, but when I look down I relax them, she starts screaming at me but she is crying so I have no idea what she is saying, then she storms off.

“What was that about?”  Max asks.
“I don’t know.” I reply, we head off to class and find Dominic. When we sit down Q looks around the room and when he looks at me we make awkward eye contact, but he still does that amazing smile. He walks over and sits down next to me and explains to me why Lindsay was so mad, they broke up and she blames me, I don’t know why though. After a while of no one talking he leans in and asks if I am planning on doing anything over the weekend. I tell him that I’m planning on staying home and watching shows. “Oh cool,” he says with a smile, “Well, if you’re interested, I’m having a few of the guys over and it would be cool if you could come, Max and Dominic can come if you want.” He says with a grin.
I smile at him, “Maybe.”

When it gets to the weekend I remember that Quentin invited me over to his place, and when I look at my phone, I see that he texted me.
“Hey, are you coming over?”
“Yeah,” I reply back, “What time?”
“Wherever’s fine.” He responds back almost instantly.

At about 5 I head off to Q’s house, when I get there he is waiting at the front with a massive smile on his face. “Hey there,” he says as he walks up to me.
“How long have you been waiting out here for?” I ask.
“I don’t know, no more than 10 minutes.”
“Oh okay, good.” I say with a half-smile.
He motions his hand to the front door so I start to walk; I feel his arm brush against mine and I twitch. He chuckles and opens the door. He takes me to the room where the others are and I see Max and Dom, so I walk over and hug them. We talk for a bit, as we are talking we hear the doorbell ring. Quentin answers it and, there’s no surprise that it’s Lindsay. I must have been staring because she looks at me and asks what I am staring at, I just shrug. I start to get awkward so I get up and walk outside to leave.

“Lissa, why are you leaving so soon?” Quentin calls out; I ignore him and continue to get into my car.
He runs over to me, “I’m not letting you leave until you tell me why you’re in such a hurry to leave,” he says looking at me with his beautiful blue eyes. I turn my head so he doesn’t see my face, he puts his cold hands onto my cheeks and I get shivers down my spine, he turns my head to face his and he asks me in a serious tone what’s wrong. I start babbling on about Lindsay and after it’s too late I realize I just told him that I am jealous of what they had and that I want him. He starts to smile, not one of them small smiles, one of those big ones, the one I am oh so obsessed with. “You are so beautiful Lissa,” I try to turn my head but his grip is too tight, he leans in and puts his hands on my waist, his lips press against mine, butterflies start to arise in the pit of my stomach, not the kind that you get before a test, the good kind and I can’t help but smile, he pulls away and smirks at me, “You coming back inside or what?” I smile and he places his hand in mine and we head off back into the house.  Have you ever loved someone so much it physically hurt?
