Chapter #1 A New Home
My hands line the ruff, brown material of my suitcase. I look at my sepia brown room I have lived in on and off for the past seventeen years of my life. I'm glad I'm leaving this place for good. I have met my adoptive parents, twice for thirty-minute periods each and they seem nice enough and have also adopted one other child that came from the nursery section of the orphans housing unit. The babies from there come to the foster home at age five and stay tell they are adopted or are eighteen and old enough to leave this hell hole.
After years of being fostered only for money it came to me as a surprise of being adopted finally. I take one last look at my twin bed coated with teal sheets, I glance at a life I'm leaving forever and am ready to get a fresh start.
A little blonde girl the age of six runs up to me and cries, "I don't want you to leave me Audrey, you’re my friend."
"I know Ryan I am going to miss you but I have to go, I know you will be adopted any day cause your so cute, but I love you and I hope to see you again one day," I reply.
I walked down the wood stairs and wave goodbye to my older friends, and walk out the door. My new parents are holding Charlie my new adopted baby brother in a satin blanket. We all get in their car and I have a smirk on my face because I feel that I am going to be happy in my new home.
Throughout the whole two-hour car ride I carried small talk with the husband Parker and the wife Claire. My new baby brother Charlie slept beside me in a car seat. I found out from Claire that she was not able to have any children after her first one Alex a boy who is my age that she forgot to mention to me in the short period we met. So Claire wanted a baby boy but her husband wanted a daughter and they looked at many children and came to a conclusion of Charlie and I.
She mentioned to me that I will be start school in two weeks with her son Alex as a junior. When you are constantly going back and forth in new foster homes school becomes hard. I'm glad I have yet to fail a school year.
The car stops and Charlie wakes up and looks at me with his baby blue eyes. I look outside and stair at the sounding forestry tell my eyes land on a giant house. "I... We are going to live in this big house," I stutter.
"Yes I know you will love it," said Claire as she pushed her dark brown hair back. She looked like she has just turned twenty-five and was way to young to have a sixteen year old.
I unbuckled my seat belt and slowly opened my door. This 'house' was at least three stories high and was a whitish cream color and had lots of green flora around it. It was painted all a coppery color and had many windows and fancy, first class cars were all along the pavement. Stone work outlined the exotic building, my eyes widened and my mouth gapped. I grasped my two suitcases and headed up the stairs that led to the house.
Claire holding Charlie and Parker walked in front of me. As we reached the door Parker typed a password into a metal panel that had a touch screen keypad that was placed on the left side of the door and it opened. I was shocked at how any one around here could afford to live in a mansion in the middle of no where, where minimum wage jobs are limited.
The black iron and glass door was pushed out of the way, and opened up into a white marbled cut floor with gold and black trim. All of the furniture in the foyer followed a modern white, black and gold color scheme. It was breath taking.
I then looked up at the spiral winding stair case as a boy that looked like the young boy version of Claire walked down. He was smiling and I felt a good aura coming from him. This must be Alex he is seventeen too. Claire and Parker walked away with Charlie to another room.
